Experience the contrasts of Northern Vietnam from the charming chaos of Hanoi to the relaxing waters of Halong Bay. This four day Discovery Tour is a fabulous introduction to the country and its culture.

Begin your journey in the capital city with a city tour. Visit the Temple of Literature and the masoleum of Ho Chi Minh for a touch of history before heading through the busy Old Quarter. Relax at the end of the day with a coffee at a local lakeside café and marvel at the seemingly endless stream of motorbikes.

Leave the buzz of the city behind as you travel east to the Gulf of Tonkin and board a traditional wooden junk boat. An overnight cruise on Halong Bay is the perfect opportunity to truly appreciate the beautiful waters, spending the hours sailing among limestone cliffs and turquoise seas. Stop to visit a mysterious cave, swim in the warm waters and feast on fresh seafood.

Day 1 - Arrival Hanoi

Welcome to Hanoi! Begin today with a visit will be the mausoleum and former house of the historic figure and father of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university, for a touch of history. Take a walking tour through the busy streets of the Old Quarter where shops and markets fill the laneways.

Day 2 - Hanoi - Halong Bay (Bai Tho Cruises) (B,L,D)

This morning journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay. Board a traditional wooden junk boat for an overnight journey. Sail past rock formations and enjoy the tranquil scenery as the boat meanders its way through the bay.

Day 3 - Halong Bay - Hanoi (B)

As the boat cruises back to Halong City this morning, enjoy brunch and more stunning scenery. Disembark at the pier where your car is waiting to drive you back to Hanoi. The remainder of today is at your leisure in the capital.

Day 4 - Hanoi Departure (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, this morning is free at your leisure for last minute shopping and sightseeing before transferring to the airport for your onward departure.
