On this tour of Cat Tien National Park, you will discover the diverse beauty and incredible bio-diversity of the Vietnamese rainforest. Leave behind the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Min city and embark on an intrepid adventure to this expansive park that protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam. Once you arrive, you will spend the following 4-days getting better acquainted with the parks interior, partaking in lights treks, visiting a centre of endangered species and taking a boat ride along the river.

Visit the parks bear rehabilitation centre, established by a local NGO you will learn how the animals came to be here and what methods are used to prepare them for life back in the wild. On route to the centre enjoy a light trek, on which you will encounter the parks captivating scenery comprising evergreen forest, dominated by Dipterocarpaceae, bamboo woodland, farmland and wetlands.

During this Vietnam tour you will take a trek to ‘Crocodile Lake’, home to the critically endangered Siamese crocodile and one of the last places in the world that you can still catch a glimpse of these animals that are vital to maintaining healthy wetlands and are also revered by some of Southeast Asia’s minority tribes. Continue to trek with a boat ride along the Ben Cu River admiring the riverbanks beauty and spotting wildlife where you can.

On the last day of our Cat Tien Tour travelers will visit the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre. The aim of the Centre is to rescue and rehabilitate where endangered primates are recued and rehabilitated before being releasing them back into Cat Tien National Park. This Vietnam tour package is ideal for nature enthusiasts who are eager to learn more about preservation and the untamed natural beauty of Vietnam, while taking a break from the city.

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh! On arrival you will take a light afternoon trek through the forest to visit the bear rehabilitation centre. This facility has been established by Wildlife at Risk (a local NGO) who take bears that have been captured for the bile market or pet trade. It is hoped that after a time in the holding enclose that some of the endemic bears can be released back into the forest. In the late afternoon return to the lodge where dinner will be served that evening.

Rise this morning and take a trek to Crocodile Lake, spotting varieties of bird life and if you are lucky the Siamese crocodile on route. These crocodiles are critically endangered and this is one of the last places in the world that you can still see them in the wild. Return to the lodge then in the afternoon take a boat trip along the Ben Cu River to view wildlife on the riverbank. Return to the lodge then take a nightdrive into the park using a spotlight to view nocturnal wildlife.

After a leisurely breakfast visit the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre. The aim of the Centre is to rescue and rehabilitate endangered primates and when appropriate release the rehabilitated pairs of gibbons back into the forests of Cat Tien National Park.

Return to the lodge before taking the 4-hour drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
