When to go?
Hanoi is most comfortable from February to April and September to November.  During these periods the temperatures are pleasant and the skies are clear.  December and January can be cold and rainy while May to August see temperatures soar as high as 33°C and beyond.  It is recommended to avoid visiting the capital during Tet, the local New Year, which takes place in late January or early February.  Most restaurants and many tourist sites are closed during this time.
