When to go?
Hoi An experiences warm weather from July to October with wet and cooler weather from November to May.  Frequent typhoons hit the central coast from August to October which can cause flooding in Hoi An's old town and make the waters at Cua Dai beach too rough for swimming.  Tet New Year is celebrated throughout Vietnam in late January or early February.  During this time, transport options fill up quickly and lots of restaurants and tourist sites are closed so it is not recommended to travel to Vietnam then.
