Venturing from the modern metropolis of Bangkok to the ancient capitals of Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, you will experience intriguing destinations, mouth-watering local cuisine, and friendly locals.

The cultural introduction to Thailand starts in Bangkok, a dynamic city which tenaciously preserves its centuries old traditions. Gilded temples, monks on early morning alms rounds and a thriving network of olden-day canals are easily observed amid the city's gleaming skyscrapers and shopping malls. In Rattanakosin Island, the country's spiritual heart, sacred edifices and Buddha images continue to be the order of the day.

The former Siamese capital city, Ayutthaya is an impressive treasure trove that houses majestic temples, stupas and ruins. Head northwards to Sukhothai and Sri Satchanalai, both archaeological gems which reward the discerning traveler with breathtaking ruins from an era even earlier than Ayutthaya.

Venture further north to Northern Thailand, the stronghold of the Lanna kingdom which boasts of distinctive culture and traditions that differ from other parts of Thailand. In Chiang Mai, be charmed by the tranquil culture and friendly locals as you stroll through the city's beautifully preserved temples and chedis that sit nestled behind the old city walls. A scenic drive through the verdant highlands leads you to Chiang Rai. In this northernmost province, you can revel in picturesque views of the Golden Triangle and shop in a bustling border town.

Traversing Thailand's royal capitals across the ages in one captivating journey, you will surely be rewarded with unparalleled insights into this mighty Buddhist kingdom.
