OVERVIEW

Travel north of Bangkok to the town of Nonthaburi, situated the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Take a local ferryboat to Koh Kred, home to one of Thailand's oldest Mon settlements. Walk around the island to witness the local lifestyle in the countryside, stopping to visit temples and Buddha statues. Afterwards visit an ancient Mon pottery village, the oldest and largest earthenware making sources in the region.


PROGRAM DETAILS

Drive north of Bangkok towards Nonthaburi on the banks of the Chao Phraya River where you cross the ferryboat to Koh Kred, home to one of Thailand's oldest Mon settlements. Take a walk around the island to witness the local lifestyle in the countryside, visit Wat Paramai Yikawat houses Mon-style marble stupa and the reclining Buddha. Afterwards visit Ancient Mon pottery village where is the oldest and largest earthenware making sources in the region. Biking around the island can be a good option. Return to Bangkok by car.

NOTE: Tour runs from 0800-1200 or 1300-1700.
