OVERVIEW: Travel by train from Bangkok to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya for a guided day tour full of cultural insight and discovery. On arrival, visit the magnificent temples and historic ruins of Ayutthaya. Continue to local villages where you will observe traditional craftsmen at work and explore the markets, stopping to taste regional delicacies. After a longtail boat trip to Bang Pa In Palace, return to Bangkok by train.
PROGRAM DETAILS: Meet up with your tour guide in the morning and take the taxi or public transportation to Bangkok main Railway station, board the local train to Ayutthaya and enjoy the scenic view along the way until you arrive at Ayutthaya station, hop on a "Kermit" Tuk Tuk (special type of motorized Tuk Tuk available only in Ayutthaya and city of Trang in the South) to discover the magnificent ruins and ancient temples in the historical park, a brief stop near Muslim community to sample one of the most famous local delights - Ayutthaya candy floss Roti then if time permits, visit local houses to see how handicrafts are produced i.e. Palm leave fish mobile, Khon Masks, ... etc You will then be taken to the local market for your freestyle lunch - Our guide can give you recommendation for local eateries, then take a leisurely long tail boat ride to Bang Pa In Summer Palace and explore the magnificent royal mansions and continue to visit one of the most distinctive Buddhist temples, Wat Nivet Thammmpravat with its remarkable Gothic style building and the stained glass windows. A short transfer to nearby railway station to catch the train back to Bangkok.
