A scenic overland journey will take you to Mount Popa, the revered home of the spirits. Learn about them as you climb to the top, all while absorbing the wonderful natural scenes. Continue on to Bagan, a city scattered with thousands of stupas and pagodas. You will quickly be lured in by the majesty of Bagan as you visit its monasteries, markets and ruins. Bagan will also be your jumping-off point for a voyage to inviting villages and out-of-the-way temples. After a flight to Heho, you'll be driven to a dock where a private motorboat will be waiting to whisk you out among the floating hyacinth gardens and stilt-house villages of Inle Lake, where you'll get a rare glimpse into rural Burmese life. On arrival you will be welcomed by your tour guide and taken to your comfortable Yangon accommodation. Begin your Myanmar travels by experiencing the allure of Yangon as you visit colonial buildings and Shwedagon Pagoda amogst other sites. Today we continue your Burma Tour with a flight to Mandalay, the spiritual heart of Myanmar. Visit Mahamuni Pagoda, then tour local workshops to observe craftwork such as woodcarving and tapestry making. After an afternoon spent among the Kuthodaw Pagoda and the Shwenandaw Monastery, you will end the day at Mandalay Hill, the ideal spot to watch the sun set over the town and the surrounding plains. OPTION: Make your own marionette! Visit a local craft shop, choose your marionette's design (clothes, face, body) and make your own unique souvenir. Departing from Mandalay, you will you will discover the charms of old Burma as you take a journey through three of Myanmar's ancient capitals. Start in Sagaing, regarded as Myanmar's religious center. Drive parallel the Irrawaddy River to Mingun, home to several historic temples and the world's largest uncracked bell. Head to Amarapura, cross the 200-year old U Being Teak Bridge and enjoy a stroll along the bridge and the fabulous views of the surrounding farms and streams as the sun begins to set. OPTION: Start your morning with a hot-air balloon flight over the plains of Bagan. Enjoy the fabulous views as the sun rises over the stupas and Irrawaddy River. This is truly an unforgettable and unique experience! (Note: available only from October to March). Start the day off at Nyaung U, a lively morning market where locals from surrounding villages gather to buy and sell various goods. Stop for a cup of tea at a local teahouse before embarking on a touring experience to some of Bagan's finest monasteries and hidden temples. Included are visits to two workshops producing Bagan's most famous products: lacquer ware and wood crafts. Stop at a monastery to receive a special blessing by the local monks. This serene ceremony is a great experience and chance to learn about local Buddhism practices. Overnight in Bagan. Day 7 - Bagan - Heho - Inle Lake (B)

Start your day among locals as you explore the morning market on Inle Lake. Travelling from the lake by canal, you will be taken to In Dein, a Paoh village where you will tour a local school and view evocatively overgrown stupas. Return to the lake in the afternoon to catch your flight back to Yangon, where you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Yangon Day 9 - Depart Yangon (B)Take a morning train ride through Yangon's outskirts to witness the colorful local lifestyle. Disembark at Kyi Myin Daing to visit a authentic market and interact with the friendly locals before returning to the city center.
