Join us on an intrepid adventure through lesser known Myanmar on this 4-day Mesmerizing Loikaw Tour. Begin your journey with a visit to rural workshops to see how traditional Shan paper and handcrafted umbrellas are made. A great opportunity to meet locals and see what day to day life in the Golden land entails. Board a private motorboat and take to the waters of Inle Lake, one of Myanmar's most spectacular sights.

On the second day of this Myanmar tour you will take a boat trip to Hpe Kom stopping at the Thar Khaung village where eye opening encounters with the local Burmese prove a highlight of this tour. The main delight of this boat experience is the breathtaking scenery in which the Shan mountains and valleys flanking the tranquil waters of the lake provide an incredible backdrop.

After lunch in a local restaurant visit the charming town of Hpe Kom and spend some time gently meandering through this typically Burmese area. A two hour drive from Hpe Kom takes you to Loikaw, along the way enjoy the scenery and views of rural life. Experience a traditional breakfast in a local tea house before setting off to explore Demwason Market where a host of spectacularly dressed hilltribe people set about selling their wares, a truly unique experience! Next, the tour takes an educational twist with a visit to the Kayah State museum which provides a comprehensive history on the many ethnic groups within the region. The perfect conclusion to this magical day in Myanmar is a magnificent sunset over Loikaw, as seen from Taunggwe Pagoda.

One the last day of this Myanmar tour, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the town before transferring to Kalaw where some of the country's most elating scenery awaits. This is an ideal trip for the intrepid traveler who favors off-the-beaten-track excursions and unusual encounters. This is the real Myanmar!

Day 1 - Yangon - Heho - Inle


Early this morning, transfer to the Yangon airport for your domestic flight to Heho.  Today you will explore the gateway town to Inle Lake, Nyaung Shwe and observe tradition craft workshops.  Board a private motorboat and glide across the lake stopping to observe the leg-rowing fishermen and visit Inpawkhone village, Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery and Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery. Check into your lakeside hotel this evening.

Overnight on Inle Lake.


Day 2 - Inle Lake - Hpe Kom (By Boat) - Loikaw (By Car) (B,L)


After breakfast, your journey begins with a boat trip to Hpe Kom in the southern reaches of the lake. Visit Thar Khaung village which has an ancient monastery, panoramic views and friendly local people.

Enjoy lunch near Thar Khaung village before proceeding to Phe Kom for a short visit around the charming little town. The last stretch of your journey to Loikaw is by car, an approximately 2 hour drive.

Overnight in Loikaw.


Day 3 - Visit Loikaw (B,L)


Today starts with have a traditional breakfast in a local tea house before setting out for Demawso market where ethnic groups in spectacular costumes trade their wares. On return drive, stop to visit Ngwe Taung Dam and San Mone Padaung village.

After lunch, visit the Kayah State museum and a traditional weaving shop before enjoying the magnificent sunset over Loikaw.

Overnight in Loikaw.


Day 4 - Loikaw - Hpe Kom - Pin Laung - Kalaw (B,L)


After breakfast at local tea house, take a leisurely stroll through the town for more sightseeing.  Then, transfer to Kalaw by car passing panoramic scenes of the Shan mountains and surrounding nature. Stop for lunch along the way. Also along the way, you will pass through Hpe Kom and Pin Laung, Pa-O villages whose residents welcome the visitors with friendly smiles. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
