Yangon - Heho - Nyaung Shwe - Kakku Excursion - Inle Lake - Sagar Excursion - Inle Lake - HehoYour tour of Inle Lake begins in Nyaung Shwe, a laid back town situated on the eastern shores and endearing place to spend a few days. The nearest town to the lake itself, Nyaung Shwe is home to quaint markets, temples and nunneries. From here guests visit Red Mountain Wine state, one of Myanmar's finest vineyards planted and harvested by the local Pa-Oh people. Explore the town and its surroundings on bike before departing on day 2 for Kakku, stopping en-route at Taunggyi market in the rolling Shan hills. Arrive at Kakku to the sight of more than 5200 individual stupas and several Buddha images. In addition to visiting a number of the temples, your knowledgeable Pa-Oh guide will introduce you to the customs and lives of the people as you stop to visit nearby villages. Enjoy a full day excursion on the lake as your tour of Myanmar continues with a visit to Khaung Dine village on the lake's western shores. Wander through the village and learn about the production of local delicacies. Continue to the centre of the lake passing a number of smaller villages and see the famous one legged rowing technique of fishermen. Enjoy a delicious Inthar or Shan style lunch whilst on the lake. In the afternoon your boat will continue down a small canal to the Pa-Oh village of Indein. Finally head to the southern region of Inle Lake to an area named Sagar. A town that few tourists visit yet remains one of the most beautiful places around Inle Lake. The boat journey takes roughly 3 hours with a number of interesting stops made along the way - in particular a visit to the 'sunken' stupas of Sagar.
