Sabadee and welcome to Laos! This morning transfer to Chong Mek border and cross to Laos. Drive south toward Champassak province and take a short boat ride to Don Daeng, an island in the middle of the Mekong River, where you will check into La Folie Lodge. The lodge boasts fabulous views of the Mekong and an inviting swimming pool.

After a leisurely breakfast, take a short guided tour by bikes around the island. The road is flat and the easy ride is a good chance to witness the daily life of the villagers. Cross the Mekong to visit Wat Phou Temple, one of Laos' most revered temples, followed by a short tour of Champassak town.

Today you will travel to Xe Pian Protected area to explore one of the most biologically diversified areas in Southeast Asia. Stop in a small village for a picnic lunch with the locals amid the tranquil countryside, embark on an elephant ride to Mount Asa and visit a village known for its intricate wood carvings and masks.

Today explore the region known as 4000 Islands, or Siphandon in the local language. Take a boat ride to Done Det and Done Khone, two very laidback islands near the border of Strung Treng Province in Cambodia. Unspoiled scenery and magnificent waterfalls highlight the area.

This morning, travel by boat and car to the Cambodian border and cross to the village of O'Svay. Here, you will have a first glance at a typical Cambodian village and get in touch with the wonderful and welcoming Cambodian people. Take a boat ride through flooded forests and tranquil waters to an island for a picnic lunch. Continue to the riverside town of Stung Treng for the evening where you'll dine at a charity-run restaurant.

This morning, visit Mekong Blue, a local silk weaving centre offering work and an income to disadvantaged young women in this remote area. From here, transfer South towards Kratie making several stops along the way. In Sambo village, visit Wat Sorsor Mouy the so called '100 pillars' pagoda. In Kampi you will have a chance to spot the endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins who live in this stretch of the Mekong. This evening, back in Kratie, join the locals for a spectacular show of traditional puppetry at historic Wat Rokakandal.

Spend this morning on Koh Trong, a small island in the Mekong near Kratie. By bike or horsecart, make your way around the island stopping to plant a tree with local farmers, picnicking under the pomelo trees and visiting a floating village at the south of the island.

Continue southwards today with a drive to Kampong Thom. En route, stop in Kampong Cham for lunch before turning northwest and leaving the Mekong River behind. Arrive in Kampong Thom this afternoon where you can relax at the hotel's pool or talk a walk around this provincial capital.

Set off towards the rarely visited jungle temples of Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the most important pre-Angkorian sites in the country. Enjoy a beautiful walk through the jungle with breathtaking views of these monuments.  Lunch is served by a community-based project amid the rice fields. Continue by road to Siem Reap where a tuk tuk ride will take you to see the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat.

This morning explore the temples of Angkor Thom and Bayon.  Visit the jungle-covered Ta Phrom as well as smaller temples like Banteay Kdei before returning to your hotel for a mid-day break. An afternoon trip to Kampong Phluck takes you by boat through a floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake.
