Bangkok - Luang Prabang - Vientiane - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap


Bangkok, Thailand's glittering capital, is the starting point for your Southeast Asia tour. Take an iconic tuk-tuk for a ride through the streets and travel on the local canal taxi for a day of sightseeing. You'll visit the famed Grand Palace and Wat Po and get a taste for the local life as you venture through the city with your guide.

 

Leaving the busy city behind, fly to Luang Prabang. Nestled amid mountains and rivers, Laos' charming cultural capital will captivate you from the minute you land. Partake in ancient Buddhist rituals, cruise on the Mekong River aboard a traditional riverboat and cook up tasty Lao dishes with a culinary course.

 

Vientiane is the next stop on your Laos tour. The sleepy riverside capital has a rich history and as you visit Patuxay monument, Wat Sisaket and That Luang you will learn more about Laos' past. To cap off your stay in Laos, a special baci ceremony is arranged in a family home followed by a traditional dinner.

 

From capital to capital, you fly onwards to Phnom Penh for the Cambodia section of your Southeast Asia tour. Once called 'the Pearl of the East' you will venture through the tree-lined streets, explore temples and visit the Royal Palace and National Museum.

 

Your regional tour finishes with a visit to the ancient capital of Siem Reap. Stare in wonder at the magnificent Angkor Wat and head off the tourist trail with an excursion to the remote temples of Beng Melea and Koh Ker. Visiting these breathtaking sites is a fitting way to cap off your Cambodia tour.

Day 1 - Arrive Bangkok


Welcome to Bangkok! Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of today is at your leisure to relax and enjoy.

Day 2 - Bangkok (B,L)


From skyscrapers to hidden laneways, a full day of unique excursions showcases the best of the capital. Start with a visit to Thailand's most revered sights: The Grand Palace and Wat Po and then zip through the streets in an iconic tuk-tuk. Ride through Bangkok city canals on a taxi-boat to the city center and visit the house of famous silk merchant Jim Thomspon.

Day 3 - Bangkok - Luang Prabang (B,D)


Fly to the charming Laos town of Luang Prabang this morning. Your local guide will take you around the city to see spectacular temples and to the hillside temple of Phou Si Mountain for sunset. Peruse the evening market for colorful handicrafts and enjoy a fantastic dinner at one of the city's best restaurants.

Day 4 - Luang Prabang (B,L,D)


Awake early this morning to partake in the serene alms c eremony, sitting alongside locals as they make their offerings to the monks. Continue with a visit to the morning produce market and National Museum, which was once the Royal Palace. After lunch, try your hand at dying your own scarf at a Lao textile workshop followed by a cooking course for a taste of local flavors.

Day 5 - Luang Prabang (B,L,D)


Board an elegant wooden riverboat, the Nava Mekong, for a cruise along the Mekong River. Stop to visit the Buddha-filled Pak Ou caves and enjoy the spectacular river views along the way. Dine on a Lao-style lunch as the boat moors mid-stream before returning to town for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 6 - Luang Prabang - Vientiane (B,L,D)


A short flight takes you to Vientiane, Laos' sleepy capital city. An afternoon visit to a traditional craft shop not only shows the cultural traditions of the country but also supports a good cause. As the sun sets, stroll along the riverbanks where a lively evening atmosphere of stalls and vendors is a nightly occurrence and then head to dinner at one of the city's top tables.

Day 7 - Vientiane (B,L,D)


A morning city tour takes you to famed temples such as Wat Sisaket and That Luang as well as through quiet neighborhoods and local markets. For your final evening in Laos, partake in a special Lao ceremony. The baci is deeply rooted in the local culture and will bless you with good luck and good fortune. After the ceremony, join the locals for a traditional dinner.

Day 8 - Vientiane - Phnom Penh (B)


Today fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital city. This afternoon is at your leisure to relax or explore the city on your own.

Day 9 - Phnom Penh (B)


With your local guide, take an excursion through the city and its main sites such as Wat Phnom, the National Museum and Royal Palace. Take in the colorful blend of French Colonial architecture, tree-lined streets and traditional Buddhist temples as you explore Phnom Penh.

Day 10 - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B)


Mid-morning, fly to Siem Reap the gateway to the Angkor Temples. After checking in and having lunch, transfer by tuk tuk to Angkor Wat. Your guide will lead you through the endless corridors and looming towers of this majestic temple, explaining the history and significance of the carvings.

Day 11 - Siem Reap - Bangkok (B,L)


Crawl over tree roots, venture through jungle-covered halls as you explore Beng Mealea temple this morning. Remote and untouched by time, a visit to Beng Mealea one of the most incredible touring experiences in Cambodia and made even more spectacular with an optional helicopter flight.  Continue to the 10th century temples of Koh Ker, by helicopter or by road, for a picnic lunch and then return to Siem Reap. An evening flight takes you back to Bangkok.

Day 12 - Depart Bangkok (B)


This morning is free for last minute shopping or sightseeing before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
