My favorite tour is always the last one and I have to say that I truly enjoyed the Luang Prabang on the Kids Path tour. I had a great time during this trip. Altogether, there were two families with six children between the ages of 7 and 15. We stayed at the Villa Maly which enjoys a great location and had a unique charm that made us feel right at home. There were a host of activities that the adults and the kids enjoyed on this tour. We explored Luang Prabang on e-bikes, which I thought was the coolest way to do it. It was fun, convenient and environmentally friendly. The Restaurant selection on this tour was just perfect! We ate at the Utopia which overlooked the Nam Kha River for our first lunch and at the L'Elephant for dinner. The Blue Lagoon and Le Petit Nid were also nice restaurants. We also witnessed the monks at alms walks at 6 AM. This was a little difficult for the kids to get up for at first, but it was a beautiful sight and everyone enjoyed the experience. We especially had a memorable time at Kuang Si Falls, where we had a picnic lunch, climbed up the waterfall, dived into and swam in the pool below. We also had a 30 minute speedboat race before cooling our adrenaline down with a traditional Baci ceremony in a simple and private house. We took a boat cruise to our next destination, Kamu Lodge. The trip itself was fun. Some people were chatting and recalling their experiences so far, while others were playing board games and some took the moment to relax with a book and others with music. The last couple of days spent at Kamu Lodge were also fantastic. There were a whole host of activities for us to engage in such as rice planting, gold panning, traditional fishing, arbalest shooting and a visit to the Kamu village. We were also treated to a traditional performance by the villagers and we participated in the funny and unforgettable bamboo dance. My advice is if you have children, then go on this tour. There is something for everyone here. It is also a nice change of pace for a city person like myself. Next up for me is Myanmar. I have been to Myanmar on business trips before and would love to experience the country at leisure for once! I can't wait to bask in the unspoiled beaches of Ngapali, see the many wonders such as Shwedagon Pagoda and Powindaung Caves, and visit Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake with my family!
