Vientiane - Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfalls

This Green Tour of Laos begins in Vientiane, the Laotian capital that for many will share more in common  with a village than a bustling Asian city. From here you will discover the hidden-delights of  the city from the serene Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese (Thai) invasion in 1828 to the nearby Wat Phra Keo before finishing at Patuxay monument, Laos' version of the Arc de Triomphe.

Embark on the Orchid Park trek through Phou Khao Kway National Park to the seven tier Tad Xay Waterfall, passing rugged mountains, gorges, and sandstone cliffs on route. The park is home to more than 50% of the wild orchid species of Laos and a variety of plants within the bamboo forests and evergreen forests you will pass along the way. Lead by the villagers of Ban Hatkhai, the orchid tour seeks to better the wellbeing of locals while also improving ecological awareness.

When you arrive in the spiritual heart of Southeast Asia, Luang Prabang, you will climb 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi and enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside.

No trip to Luang Prabang would be complete without waking early to feed the monks their alms, an experience synonymous with the city. Following this you will have your introduction to responsible tourism, before taking a tour of the city by electrically powered bike. On this Laos tour you will visit the Royal Palace, Wat Mai and Wat Sensoukarahm.

The final day of our Green Tour of Laos takes you to the sensational Kuang Si Waterfalls that cascade down a multilevel limestone formation creating a series of turquoise blue pools, perfect for swimming in on a hot day. Finish the day with a visit to two ethnic hill tribes, a real insight into the distinct cultures inhabiting Laos.

Our Green laos Tour is an ideal itinerary for those wanting to catch the highlights of this magical land-locked country, where 80% of the population live in villages and the forces of modernity have yet to infilatrate.
