Inthira Vang Vieng commands a prime location in town, not too far from the center and a stone's throw from the Nam Song River and limestone caves. Vang Vieng is about 6-8 hours from Luang Prabang and around 3-4 hours from Vientiane by bus.

 

Who should go?
With its ideal location near the Nam Song River and within walking distance to the limestone formations, Inthira Vang Vieng is an ideal accommodation for those who love the outdoors and would like to to experience the natural wonders the town is renowned for. It may lack facilities of a five stay or boutique hotel, but that shouldn't put off guests too much if they are looking for a soothing and relaxing environment.

When to go?
From November to February the weather is cool and dry while March to June sees temperatures soaring in to the high 30s (Celsius). July to October tend to be very rainy, washing out some roads thus making rural areas inaccessible. The Lao are very sociable and if you happen to be in the country during one of their festivals, you are sure to get caught up in the lively atmosphere!  Pii Mai, Lao New Year, is in April and the celebrations include parades and water fights.
