Discover the kaleidoscopic wonders of Flores in this exciting week-long Indonesia tour. Sailing on a majestic wooden sailboat modeled after a traditional phinisi schooner, you will have a taste of how life was like for the skilled Bugis seafarers who once plied the waters of the Malay Archipelago.  

You will cruise to Rinca and Komodo, two desolate islands home to the legendary Komodo dragon. Venture ashore for ranger-guided treks to see these gargantuan reptiles in their natural environment. Disembark and return to the Flores mainland. Overnight and Dinner at Kelimutu Ecolodge

Start the day with sunrise views on top of Mt Kelimutu (1690m). There are also three phenomenal colored lakes, from aquamarine, ochre red and brown. Descend the mountain to Moni for breakfast. Continue to Ende, the island's capital stopping at a bustling fruit market and surrounding villages. Drive to the small town of Bajawa with stops at a colorful market in Boawae and a coffee plantation near Kaja.  On arrival in Bajawa, check into your hotel.

Overnight in Bajawa 

Drive to Ruteng with a stop at Bena, a traditional village situated at the base of a volcano, noted for its unusual architecture of steeped roof wooden houses typical of Flores. Then visit the village of ancestral monoliths, Wogo. Traverse to the emerald crater lake of Ranamese and get to know the locals of Barang village. Track back to your hotel and relax at leisure.

Overnight at Ruteng

In the early morning you drive to Labuan Bajo, stopping at local villages for an incredible view of the Cancar spider web rice fields. Arrive in Labuan Bajo for a boat cruise to the islands of Rinca and Komodo, both known for its population of Komodo dragons. Take a trek with an island ranger to see these magnificent lizards in their natural environment.

Overnight and dinner on board local boat

Continue to Komodo Island and trek with experienced ranger to witness a stunning view of Loh Liang Bay. Take a swim or go snorkeling at Red Beach on the island's east coast, a sloping, shallow reef just off the shore which is home to an abundant variety of sealife. Transfer from the harbor to the hotel in Labuan Bajo.

Overnight in Komodo.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Batu Cermin Cave, known for its eerie glow emitted when the sun shines at a certain angle. This limestone cave is home to a large bat and monkey population and also offers panoramic views of the mainland and bay. Transfer to the airport by car for the flight to Bali.
