The 9-day Bali and Flores Cruise begins with a voyage to the prisitine Gili islands, where you will have the opporunity to disemabark for some snorkeling and sun-lounging. Enjoy the unique experience of awaking as you approach Labuhan Lombok where you will go ashore to see local handicradfts such as pottery and enjoy a traditional dance performance alongside live music. During the afternoon you will sail to Pulau Moyo where you will spend the remainder of the day enjoying this tropical paradise.

 

After sailing through the evening awake to the the island of Sumbawa Besar where you will visit the former Sultan's Palace on the west of the island.  After engaging in the history head to the local village to stroll through the markets or for the more adventurous navigate the area from a horse and cart.  The highlight of today will be a visit to the extinct volcano island of Satonda, where an eerie but awe inspiring landscapes awaits and the spectacle of the indigenous flying fox. 

 

The next morning visit village of Wera, a Buginese settlement on the east coast of Sumbawa Island. Here you will visit the famous ship-building yards and see the various stages of construction of these boats. Continue to Sangean Island where you will go ashore and take a short trek up the rugged terrain of volcanic mountain, reveling magnificent panoramas along the way.


Rise to the glorious shores of the Rinca Island, home to an abundance of exotic wildlife and indigenous flora that exist amid the islands diverse terrain consisting of jungle, savannah and enchanting emerald coves.  After your Rinca excursion, continue sailing to the island of Komodo where prehistoric landscapes and the infamous dragon await.  Trek through the dry territory before meeting the indigenous Sea Gypsies living in wooden stilted houses on the Strait.

 

On day-7 of this Bali and Flores Cruise tour you will spend the day at a tiny archipelago of 17 islands, Riung, savoring the delights of barbecued lunch on the beach.

 

A highlight of this Indonesia tour is the morning excursion to the three lakes of Kelimutu. Located atop Mount Kelimutu these lakes are unique for their vivid coloring - a combination of aquamarine, reddish brown and dark brown.

 

The final morning Bali tour pays a visit to Maumere, where a visit is paid to the small village of Watublapi to witness a cultural performance local to this specific area and observe the traditional hand weaving process of Flores.

Day 1 - Sanur - Amed - Gili Trawangan - Sumbawa (L,D)


Upon arrival your guide and private car will meet you from your Sanur hotel and transfer you to Amed, where you will board the 'Katharina', your home for the next 9-days. Cast off and set sail east towards the Gili Islands. Stop at Gili Trawangan for swimming, snorkelling or relaxing on the beach. Optional scuba diving excursion can be arranged (additional USD40 per person).This afternoon, you will continue cruising to Northeast Lombok.

Day 2 - East Lombok Discovery - Pulau Moyo - Badas (B,L,D)


Docked in Labuhan Lombok, east Lombok, After breakfast enjoy a tour into the interior of east Lombok, untouched by the crowds. Visit a pottery village, attend a local dance performance and have lunch on the way. After re-embarkation, continue journey to the island of Moyo, off the coast of west Sumbawa. The boat will drop anchor near the south point of the island for a few hours to swim, snorkel and relax.

Day 3 - Sumbawa Besar - Satonda - East Sumbawa (B,L,D)


After a leisurely breakfast onboard, Disembark Katharina for a morning exploring Sumbawa Besa. Visit the former Sultan's palace and observe daily life from a horse and cart, stopping to chat with local people along the way.  This afternoon holds a unique experience exploring the extinct volcano island of Satonda.  Walk around the crater lake and at dusk experience the spectacle of the commute of the flying fox for their nightly feed.

Day 4 - Wera - Sangean Island - Gili Banta - Night Sailing to Rinca (B,L,D)


This morning the boat will reach Wera, on the east coast of Sumbawa Island. You'll disembark and visit the Buginese settlement whose inhabitants are famous boat builders. Depending on the weather you will then continue to Sangean Island. Return to the ship for an afternoon cruise to Gili Banta for a swimming and snorkeling break. Overnight the boat will continue cruising to Rinca Island.


Day 5 - Rinca - Komodo Discovery - Padar - Loh Liang (B,L,D)


Wake up with the boat at anchor off Rinca Island, the second largest of the eighty islands in the Komodo archipelago and the richest in terms of fauna. Trek through spectacular scenery of savannah, looking to view wild horses, water buffalo, wild boar, monkeys, and of course the famous 'Komodo dragons'. Lunch will be served while crossing over from Padar Island to another spectacular beach location for some exceptional snorkeling. 

 


Day 6 - Ropa - Kelimutu Volcano - Night Sailing to Labuan Bajo (B,L,D)


This morning, come ashore in Loh Liang on Komodo Island for an exciting trek through the Park. In the dry and rugged landscapes, you may well come face to face with the Komodo Dragon. This afternoon we visit a small island to meet with the 'Sea Gypsies', indigenous to the area, living in stilted housing in the Strait.   As the sun sets we hoist the anchor for the overnight passage to the North Coast of Flores

Day 7 - Riung leisure (B,L,D)


Enjoy your morning on Riung lounging on the beach, in the crystal clear waters or climbing to the top of one of the many hills for views over the sea and neighboring Flores Island. At Midday, a barbeque lunch will be served on the beach. This afternoon the cruise will resume on towards sailing eastward.

 

 


Day 8 - Ropa - Kelimutu discovery - Ropa - Maumere (B,L,D)


As the sun begins to rise, the boat will reach Ropa. Go ashore and transfer by bus to the three lakes of Kelimutu. After you return, resume your cruise continue to a nearby beach for the remainder of the afternoon for relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. In the evening, another BBQ will be set up on the beach. At night set sail from Ropa to Maumere, east-Flores

Overnight onboard the Katharina.  


Day 9 - Maumere - Watublapi - Transfer to Airport for Flight to Bali (B)


In the early morning, arrive in Maumere. Visit to the small village of Watublapi to witness a cultural performance and the traditional hand weaving process typical for Flores.

 

After the performance transfer to Maumere airport for return flight to Bali.
