Welcome to a traditional Balinese compound ! Today you will partake in a hands-on cooking course and learn how to make some of the most legendary Indonesian dishes. Interacting with the friendly villagers of Mas, this is sure to be an unforgettable part of your tasty experiences.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Today you will get a true taste of the local culture, traditions and lifestyles with this traditionnal cooking lesson.

Your Exotissimo guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel for a grocery trip to Ubud local market: Meet the Chef and buy all of your fresh ingredients.

Then , drive to Mas, a small village located 10-15 km from Ubud and known for its wood carving tradition. Enter the traditionnal balinese compound where the mens are busy working their pieces of Art and the womens making traditional temple offerings.

Here, you will learn how to prepare Balinese signature dishes, using the techniques and become familiar with the fresh herbs, spices, and other ingredients that make Balinese food delightfully tasty.

Through demonstration and hands-on experience, we will prepare lunch on an assortment of exquisite dishes, from satay and grilled fish in banana leaf to black rice pudding dessert.

Explore different ways to blend and balance the varied flavors to create a stimulating array of unique tastes.

As the final touches are being put on the dishes, have a walk around the village compound to learn about the traditional architecture and layout of these rural seeing. Then, return to the house and sit down to dine on your tasty creations.

After lunch, transfer back to your hotel. (L)
