OVERVIEW

Escape from the beaches to the cool highlands of Bedugal for a day on Exotissimo Bali Lakes and Hills day trip. Setting off from the south with your local guide, you’ll travel to the inland highlands where you’ll visit local markets, walk through lush forests and plantations and take a boat ride to the iconic Ulun Danu Temple. With cool temperatures and lush green surroundings, this excursion is an ideal break from the seaside.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel this morning and then depart for your full day excursion of Bali's lakes and hills.  Your first stop will be at the Royal Temple of Mengwi which was built in 1634 to serve as the family temple of the Mengwi dynasty. The temple is a truly stunning piece of historic architecture, surrounded by a moat with multi-roofted meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates.

Continue to Bedugul, an area of the central highlands that is famous for its stunning beauty and three lakes. You'll visit the area's traditional market of Bedugul where a myriad of fruits, vegetables and orchids are for sale from the area's gardens. There are also stalls selling exotic spices and souvenirs.

Ascend north, further into the hills, to reach Lake Bratan. Take a local motorized boat to the scenic Ulun Danu Temple. Set on an island amid the peaceful water of the Lake Bratan, this temple is one of Bali's most iconic and photogenic sites.

After your boat journey, continue to Munduk for lunch. Munduk is surrounded by tropical rainforests and beautiful waterfalls. Due to the cooler temperatures (20-25°C) many fruits, vegetables and spices are grown in the area.

Following lunch, your guide will take you for 1hour walk through the coffee, cloves, vanilla, avocado and other kind of plantation areas.

Return to your hotel in South Bali by driving along the main road via Pacung. (L)
