Touching down in Siem Reap, you will spend the first three days of our Cambodia package tour visiting the majestic temples of Angkor. With your expert guide, learn about the history and discover the hidden alcoves of monuments such as Angkor Wat, Bayon, Banteay Srei and Ta Phrom.

During your stay in Siem Reap, there are opportunities at every turn to visit a locally-run charity. Among these are The Landmine Museum, where you can learn more about the ongoing efforts to demine the country and support victims of these unexploded ordinances. Sala Bai Restaurant is another fantastic option. By dining here you not only enjoy delicious fresh Khmer cuisine, but also help in the vocational training of underprivileged children.

Travel by boat through the Tonle Sap Lake and Sangker River to Battambang, near the Thai border. This quiet town is filled with colonial buildings and has a rugged charm. In the evening, visit Phare Ponleu Selpak, an organization helping disadvantaged youth, where you can spend time at the arts center. On Thursday nights, attend a original circus created by the kids which is sure to be a highlight of your Cambodia tour.

The next morning, take the unique bamboo train through the countryside for an exhilarating ride past rice fields and small villages. Visit Meahto Phum Ko'mah, a non-profit NGO working hard to reintegrate vulnerable children back into society. Shopping for fabulous handicrafts at the center and dining at the training-restaurant has a direct impact on the charity's activities.

Return to Siem Reap by road in the late afternoon on the fifth day of your Cambodia tour. Before departing, there is an option to visit Artisans d'Angkor where techniques of Khmer traditional are being kept alive through training programs and workshops.

Arrive at Siem Reap airport, welcome by our guide and transfer to check-in at hotel. This afternoon, start your Cambodia tour with a visit to the resplendent Angkor Wat. Your guide will explain the history and religious significance of this awe-inspiring monument as you wander through the halls and passageways.

Enjoy a full day of temple touring, starting this morning at Angkor Thom. After entering via the South Gate, you will explore the enigmatic faces of Bayon, the imposing Terrace of the Elephants and the ornate Terrace of the Leper Kings. Following an afternoon visit to Banteay Srei, stop at the Landmine Museum which promotes mine awareness and education as well as supports area landmine victims.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

In the morning, visit t the temples of the Grand Circuit, beginning with the Preah Khan Temple and continuing to Neak Pean and Ta Som. Dine at Sala Bai, a school training young underprivileged Cambodians in principles of hospitality. After your meal, tour the school and meet the students. This afternoon your Exotissimo guide will take you through the Small Circuit temples, highlighted by a visit to the jungle-covered Ta Phrom temple.

A scenic boat journey takes you across the Tonle Sap Lake and along the Sangker River to Battambang, passing by stilted houses and impressive flooded forests. After checking in to your hotel, visit the 11^th century temple of Ek Phnom in the countryside. A special treat awaits this evening with a trip to Phare Ponleu Selpak, an organization helping disadvantaged youth, where you will visit the arts center and enjoy an original circus show created by the kids. Having garnered international attention, the circus is an entertaining and heartwarming evening.

Overnight in Battambang.

Zip through the beautiful landscapes of rural Cambodia with a ride on the local bamboo train. This unique train was set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and is a fabulous way to discover the daily life in the countryside. Return to town for a walking tour of the colonial center and visit Meahto Phum Ko'mah. Here you will learn about the charity's work reintegrating vulnerable children back in to society, visit the weaving center and dine at their Fresh Eats Café, where skill training takes place. Transfer by road back to Siem Reap late this afternoon.

This morning is at your leisure in Siem Reap with an optional visit to Artisans d'Angkor, a craft center working to preserve traditional Cambodian arts and crafts. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight or continue your travels with an extension to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's south coast or Thailand, taking away fond memories and knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the Cambodian people.
