Who should go?
With its small size, charming décor and welcoming staff, Villa Kiara attracts travelers wanting an intimate base from which to explore the temples of Angkor. Here, price and amenities combine to form one of the best-value boutique properties in Cambodia and if being on the outskirts of town is not an issue, any discerning traveler will appreciate their stay at Villa Kiara. When to go?
Siem Reap has two distinctive seasons: rainy from June to October and dry from November to May. Traveling during the rainy season has its benefits as the temple moats are full and landscapes are greener, making for great photographic opportunities. The rains usually fall in the afternoon but last for only 2-3 hours. The dry season can be very dusty, but easier for walking through the jungle terrain around the temples. The temperature is fairly steady at 30-35 ºC during the day time, although November to January experiences significantly cooler temperatures.

What’s not to be missed?
A traditional Khmer Massage at Iris Spa. Early morning wake-up for sunrise at Angkor Wat. Enjoying a refreshing swim in the crystal clear pool. Sitting in Villa Kiara’s gardens in the tranquil evening air. Sampling Italian cuisine at Restaurant Daya.

What’s cooking?
Despite its small size, Villa Kiara’s three dining options offer a surprising variety of cuisines. The Pool Bar serves light snacks and refreshing fruit shakes while the Daya Bar focuses on cocktails and its ‘bar snacks’ have a distinctly Khmer twist. The centerpiece of Villa Kiara’s dining venues is Restaurant Daya, where the relaxed, open-air setting  belie the complex flavors and gourmet dishes on the menu. From honey-glazed goat cheese with almonds to olive crusted rack of lamb to fragrant fish amok, Chef Laurent Baldini cooks up a range of delectable Italian, Spanish and Asian cuisines.
