Travel away from the tourist areas and in to the heart of the Cambodian countryside on horseback and bicycle. Start with a two hour horseback ride, passing rice fields, local villages, and the remote Wat Atvea at a leisurely pace. This afternoon, pedal your way along the local river to explore rural Siem Reap and meet friendly locals.

PROGRAM DETAILS

This morning, you will be picked up and head to the Happy Ranch outside of Siem Reap, the only western style horse ranch in Cambodia. There you will get acquainted with your horse of pure Cambodian breed, a descendant of the Mongolian wild horses. Enjoy the countryside on horseback! During the 2-hour trail ride you will get to places far outside the tourist area, through the rice fields and local villages to the rarely visited temple of Wat Atvea. Explore the peaceful temple ruins of the Angkorian era, a truly authentic experience. Return to the Happy Ranch on horseback through small, quiet paths and enjoy lunch in a local community.

This afternoon, trade in your horse for a bicycle as you ride towards the floating village of Chhong Kneas. As you cycle along the Siem Reap River, catch a glimpse of Cambodian life, lush green paddy fields, stilt houses and typical rural villages. Encounter friendly locals and smiling children. After a loop around the river, return to the Happy Ranch and transfer to Siem Reap mid-afternoon.
