Day 1 - Bangkok - Arrival
On arrival in Bangkok you will be welcomed by your tour guide and taken to your hotel. Your Thailand tour begins with a stroll through Chinatown and a canal tour on a long-tail boat. Travelling down the historic Chao Phraya River, you'll also visit the magnificent Wat Arun - or Temple of Dawn.

Today we take you an hour's drive south of the city to one of many floating markets in the area, stopping at a unique market on the railway tracks along the way. Next you'll enjoy a relaxing paddleboat ride through a web of canals before arriving at Rama II Park with its Thai-style Pavilion Museum. In the afternoon, you're free to enjoy some of Bangkok's many attractions at your leisure.

Day 3 - Bangkok - Chiang Rai (B)
This morning you'll fly to Chiang Rai, where you'll spend the afternoon checking out the city's highlights by rickshaw, including markets, temples and a historic museum. Your tour continues by road as you visit Wat Rong Khun, which features unique "kanok" architecture.
Overnight in Chiang Rai
Head out of Chiang Rai to the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. On the steep banks of the Mekong River you will see magnificent ancient ruins and temples before taking a boat trip downstream to a Thai Lue village, renowned for its hand-weaving. In the afternoon you'll pass through the Chiang Khong border crossing to Lao for a unique visit with a local hill tribe before returning to Thailand to your hotel overlooking the Mekong River.

Day 5 - Chiang Khong - Doi Phatang - Phu Chi Fah - Chiang Kham - Bo Klua
Drive along the Laotian border to Phatang, a Kuomintang outpost with a peaceful village where you can start the day with a shot of homemade cherry or plum wine! Breathtaking views over Laos will greet you at the top of Phu Chi Fah, a celebrated border peak where you'll enjoy a local lunch. In the afternoon, we'll take you to Bo Klua, a village well-known for its salt wells.

Today you'll visit the heart of Doi Phu Kha, a national park filled with rare historic palms, before visiting a local village with a splendid mural-filled temple and a silk and cotton weaving shop run by a women's cooperative. We'll then bring you to Nan, stopping to check out the Riverside Gallery which features paintings and sculptures by a famed local artist.
Overnight in Nan.
Your day begins with a city tour of Nan before we bring you to meet one of the rarest hill tribes of South East Asia. Next stop is Phrae, one of Thailand's oldest cities. You'll experience its authentic Lanna culture and traditional Thai architecture, ending the day with a visit to a large two-storey teak mansion built in 1897.

Day 8 - Phrae - Lampang - Lamphun - Chiang Mai (B,L)
A short drive will bring you to Lampang, a large trading centre during the 19th century where you'll stroll amongst old Thai, Chinese, British and Burmese merchant houses and enjoy a horse cart ride through the town. The journey continues with a visit to one of the most spectacular temples in Thailand and the world's first elephant hospital before we bring you to historic Lamphun for a short tour of its lovely old temples. We'll end the day bringing you down an old highway lined by beautiful Yang trees to your final destination, the famed Chiang Mai city.
Overnight in Chiang Mai
Spend the morning soaking in Chiang Mai's many sights and sounds as you visit ancient temples, markets, residential areas, unique architecture and bustling main street before visiting a local orphanage. In the afternoon we will take you up the mountain to visit Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most famous and sacred temple in northern Thailand, as well as a traditional Hmong village.
Overnight in Chiang Mai
Today you are free at explore Chiang Mai at your leisure before we transfer you to the airport for your departure flight and wish you bon voyage.
