Bangkok - Ampawa - Chachensao - Wang Nam Keaw - Khao Yai Starting and finishing in Bangkok this interesting tour takes you to some unusual and authentic parts of Thailand without having to fly or travel too far from the Thai capital. Starting in Bangkok you'll enjoy a relaxed bike tour through Bang Ka Jao, with its waterways, temples, local markets and traditional Thai-style homes. We will take you out of the city to do some shopping at Tha Kha, a lively floating market, before embarking on a paddleboat journey through a network of canals, stopping at picturesque Buddhist temples and a scenic park along the way. Your Asia travel adventure continues with a riverboat cruise down the Bangprakong River to a hundred-year-old market, which features fabulously preserved teak-shop houses. You'll also visit a local Chinese Buddhist shrine and have time to relax at the peaceful Suan Khun Thor garden. A drive through the countryside will bring you to gorgeous Khao Yai, where you'll stay in a lovely resort and play a round of golf or indulge in a spa treatment. Find out how Khao Yai is playing a key role in Thailand's burgeoning wine-making industry when you visit the Grande Monte winery for a taste of its offerings. Your Khao Yai experience continues as you explore its famed national park. Hike down lush trails and even get a taste of Hollywood at a majestic waterfall seen in the Leonardo DiCaprio flick The Beach. If you're lucky you may even come across some exotic wildlife during a night safari before heading back to Bangkok.

Day 1 - Arrival in Bangkok  

On arrival you will be welcomed by your guide and taken to your hotel. Spend the afternoon enjoying a leisurely biking trip through the lush Bang Ka Ja, with its unique maze of waterways and small roads, local markets and traditional Thai way of life.

Overnight in Bangkok  

Day 2 - Bangkok - Ampawa Tour (B,L)  

Today we take you an hour's drive south of the city to Samut Songkhram, stopping at a unique country market along the railway tracks before visiting one of many local floating markets in the area.

Take a relaxing paddleboat ride through the area's web of canals, stopping along the way to visit Buddhist temples and local Thai people before arriving at Rama II Park with its Thai-style Pavilion Museum. In the afternoon you're free to enjoy Bangkok's wealth of offerings at your leisure.

Overnight in Bangkok  

Day 3 - Bangkok - Chachensao - Wang Nam Keaw - Khao Yai (B)  

A quick drive out of the city will bring you to a famous Chachensao temple before you travel by riverboat to an amazingly well-preserved hundred-year-old market where you'll have a chance to shop for local wares, sample Thai cuisine and visit a Chinese shrine.

Your Thailand tour continues as we take you to a lovely garden where you can indulge in a traditional Thai health check-up with a respected local doctor. Enroute to Khao Yai, enjoy a quick stop at Tap Lan National Park for a coffee break.

Overnight at Kirimaya, Khao Yai.  

Day 4 - Khao Yai (B)  

Spend the day enjoying the many facilities at the resort which include golfing, biking or spa treatments. In late afternoon, we'll bring you down winding country lanes to the nearby Grande Monte winery for a tasting. Enjoy a tasty dinner at their restaurant or dine back at the resort.

Overnight at Kirimaya, Khao Yai.  

Day 5 - Khao Yai  

Today we'll bring you to the famed Khao Yai National Park where you'll enjoy a hike through the forest to view its scenic offerings, giving you a great chance to see some of the local wildlife up close.

Next we'll take you to the stunning Heow Suwat waterfall, used as a site during filming of the movie The Beach, where you can take a quick dip in its cool waters. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy before we take you on a night safari in the park, giving you a chance to see wild elephants, deers, porcupine and dogs in their natural habitat.

Overnight at Kirimaya, Khao Yai.  

Day 6 - Khao Yai - Bangkok (B)  

Enjoy the morning at your leisure before we transfer you back to Bangkok, stopping to visit a famous Buddha footprint in the town of Saraburi on the way.
