Morning Chanting at Wat Po and Grand Palace
Grand Palace and Wat Po are the most 'must see†of all must sees in Bangkok and this is our favourite variation on the classic tour. Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Wat Po in time to experience the monks early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 9am). This is not only a wonderful experience and a spiritual way to start you day but you will also most likely be the only foreigners. One of the oldest temples in Bangkok, Wat Po is home of the famous 45 metre reclining Buddha as well as being the original school of traditional Thai massage. Continue to The Grand Palace, the most important and impressive royal palace in Thailand. Your guide will show you the palaces used for different occasions – the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House, and of course the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. Unseen Klong Tour
Let us take you north of Bangkok towards Nonthaburi on the banks of the Chao Phrya River to rendez vous with a waiting longtail boat. Enter the labyrinth of klongs (canals) and experience the sights, sounds and smells of Bangkok river life. Stop to walk through a bustling local market place where foreigners rarely venture before exploring canals that run deep into the countryside. Stop again to visit a waterside temple with an impressive reclining Buddha. Continue by boat back into the heart of Bangkok. Contact Us for more information.
The Bangkokian Tour
This varied and fascinating tour starts with a stroll through Chinatown. Starting at Chinatown square where your guide will take you through one of the oldest parts of Bangkok along Yaworat Road, where you visit interesting shops selling birds nests and shark fins, continue to a very old teashop to enjoy a cup of Chinese tea with the locals before heading down a small soi that takes you through numerous vibrant markets. The walk ends at Wat Leng Neng Yee, an atmospheric Taoist temple where the air is always heavy with incense, before taking a short drive to Charoenkrung Road where we find the The Bangkok Folk Museum. This seventy-year-old authentic Thai house, as the plaque in front of the museum reads, 'presents a living scenario of the middle level Bangkokians in the period of post World War II.†The rooms present a collection of household antiques laid out as they would have been in the days before air-conditioning and luxury hotels and there is a well kept museum in an adjacent building on the compound.
After this short stroll down Bangkok's memory lane we walk to the nearby river pier and take a longtail boat ride along the bustling Chao Phraya River and the quiet Klongs (canals). Enter the labyrinth of Klongs and see how Thai people have lived next to the water for hundreds of years. Enter Klong Mon where the Mon people, originally from Burma have settled. Make a stop at Wat Arun, the magnificent temple of dawn, which was built during the 19th century on the site of the Royal Chapel of King Taksin, which dates from the 17th century. Wat Arun's unique feature is its 79-meter pagoda or 'prang', built in the Khmer style. Take time to climb the narrow winding staircase for fine views over the river before returning to your hotel by boat and car (arriving at approximately 2pm). Contact Us for more information.
Floating Markets & Amphawa Tour
Drive south of Bangkok to the garden province of Samut Songhkhram in the Mae Klong river delta area. First visit a unique country market along the railway tracks. See the train arrive bringing the people to the market. Afterwards visit either Tha Kha or Damnoen Saduak markets. Damnoen Saduak is the famous floating market that most tourists visit and whilst always colourful and interesting, Tha Kha is our favourite as it is where the local people come together to sell their produce. If it is not a market day at Tha Kha we drop by Damneon Saduak and then will still take the chance to take a fascinating paddleboat journey through the waterways to visit a family that makes coconut sugar syrup at their teak house. After a glass of the sweet juice, take a boat ride through the maze of canals. Stop to visit some beautiful and interesting local temples to a temple where you can see a 400 year old Banyan tree and replicas of traditional Thai boxing. Continue by boat to Rama II Park, built to commemorate the "Poet King" and patron of the arts, where a group of typical Thai Houses have been converted to a museum. See an interesting collection of music instruments, beautiful masks and various household items used by the King as well as a statue of King Rama II and an exhibition of his works. Drive back to Bangkok arriving in time for a late lunch.

Cycle Ride in the Bangkok Jungle
Our biking team will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Klong Toey pier where you take a short boat ride across the Chao Phraya River to the Bangkok Jungle. Just a short hop from busy Sukhumvit is an extraordinary place known to the locals as Bang Kra Jao. This amazing wilderness in Bangkok can only be reached by boat as no bridges span this part of the river, and incredibly it has been left untouched by developers. Our gentle bicycle tour will take you through the local communities passing villages, schools and temples (there are over thirty temples in this area) and a delightful floating market (open on weekends only). We will also take you to visit an incense workshop where we have refreshments and see how this local cottage industry operates. And visit a fascinating temple, built in the Ayutthaya period, that is more than 250 years old and has a unique roof made of teak wood. The ride lasts about 2 hours and is suitable to anyone who can ride a bike. Back to your hotel by van.
Note: Includes bike, helmet, water, snacks, guided biking tour, and roundtrip road transfer. This tour departs every afternoon. We arrange a private hotel pick up but the cycling is on a 'join in†basis. Contact Us for more information.
