Angkor Wat Half Marathon 2005  

On 19th and 20th November, the site near the Angkor temples in Siem Reap will be the scene of the 10th annual Angkor Wat International Half Marathon 2005, a charity event that raises money to provide artificial limbs for victims of landmines and also to educate the youth from HIV/AIDS.

Men, women and children of any age are invited to register to participate in the short (5-kilometre) and middle (10-kilometre) walks scheduled to start at 06:30 on the 19th.

On the 20th the first race, the 21-kilometre wheelchair, is followed by the half marathon for men and women over 16, scheduled to start at 06:40. One male and one female winner will be invited to participate in a marathon in Japan. There will also be a 10-kilometre race for participants with artificial legs, a 10-kilometre road race, a 5-kilometre fun-run for ladies and a 4-kilometre family-run for families of any age.

Airline schedules

Kampuchea Airline

In mid-June Cambodia-based Kampuchea Airlines commenced new flights between Phnom Penh and Bangkok once a day, Phnom Penh and Hong Kong three or four times weekly, and Siem Reap and Hong Kong three or four times weekly.

Pending approval from Cambodian officials, Singapore-based low cost carrier Tiger Airways is making plans to operate daily flights to Cambodia.
