EXO Picks: Tamnaklao Restaurant, Luang Prabang, Laos

The Tamnaklao Restaurant, also known as the Three Elephants Café, was opened in Vientiane in a French colonial building by a family who wanted to offer their clients authentic and reasonably priced traditional Lao cuisine in a clean environment with excellent service. The concept became popular with locals and foreigners alike, and a Tamnaklao Restaurant was later opened in Luang Prabang, where tourism has been growing by leaps and bounds.

The Lao and international menu includes Luang Prabang casserole, an unusual dish of beef or chicken with eggplant, vegetables and sticky rice, fried morning glories, and wild boar steak. The menu also includes soups, salads, desserts and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is open every day for lunch from 11:00 till 15:00 and for dinner from 17:00 till 23:00. Reservations are highly recommended. Please contact laos@exotissimo.com for more information.
