Resort openings

The 380-room Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok is currently building a swimming pool and a new spa, which should all be finished by the end of July.

In July, the Briza Resort Group plans to open the 3-star Phulin Resort nearby to Karon Beach. It will house 79 deluxe rooms with garden views, a swimming pool and other facilities.

Sala Samui Resort

The Sala Samui Resort and Spa, located on Choeng Mon Beach in Koh Samui, offers luxury 69 villas and suites, 53 of which have private swimming pools. Room categories include the sala and garden pool villas, deluxe balcony villas, 1- and 2-bedroom pool villa suites, 1-bedroom duplex villa suites, and a 2-bedroom pool villa. All feature lush garden surroundings, open-air bathrooms, loungers and daybeds, and deluxe amenities. Facilities include 80 metres of private beachfront, two beachfront swimming pools, a library, a boardroom that accommodates up to 20 guests, private cooking courses, an Internet and business centre, Thai and western cuisine at the Sala Samui Restaurant, drinks at the beach bar, and the Mandara Spa.

The Zeavola All Suite Boutique Resort & Spa is located on the northern tip of Phi Phi Don Island, a one hour speedboat trip from Krabi or Phuket. It offers luxurious village, beach front, garden, pool or hillside suites that come with spacious living and sitting areas with modern amenities, including air conditioning, DVD players, mini-bars and writing desks. Facilities include Italian cuisine at the Baxil Restaurant, Thai and international cuisine at the Tacada Restaurant, and a spa.

 

Suvarnabhumi Airport update

According to the Airports Authority of Thailand, the opening of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport will be delayed until March 2006. When it opens, the airport will be able to receive 45 million passengers a year and will eventually accommodate up to 100 million passengers a year. It will offer two parking garages, the 600-room Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel, an electronic underground railway system and the largest passenger terminal complex in the world.

 

EXO Picks: Bo Phut Resort & Spa, Koh Samui, Thailand
