Pandaw cruises

Chindwin River

In late January, the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company cancelled all of its short cruises on the Pandaw IV, due to licensing issues. However, these issues were resolved and the Pandaw IV began offering short cruises from Prone to Mandalay in March.

On 6th to 18th September, the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company will launch its Burma Chindwin Expedition Cruise. The fee includes domestic flights and two nights at the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel.

In February, Pandaw began imposing a fuel surcharge of 12 USD per night for each passenger on all of its Myanmar cruises. This is the first time in ten years that Pandaw has imposed a surcharge, which will be added to the final balances of invoices. Please contact myanmar@exotissimo.com for more information.

Paradise Inle Resort

To overcome the noise and the smog from engine boats that have become a nuisance to guests in the early morning or late hours, the Inle Lake Resort has built a mini-jetty, about 300 metres from the resort-front jetty, where all boats are now required to shut off their engines and row by hand to and from the resort.

The Sandoway Resort and all of the hotel in Ngapali Beach are functioning as usual. The resort has opened seven new deluxe guest rooms, a swimming pool, a reading lounge and a piano bar, as part of the its extension programme.

Inle Lake’s Paradise Inle Resort, which offers 50 comfortable cottages built on stilts over the lake, will be closed from May until June and will reopen in August with renovated cottages and facilities.
