Maxim Restaurant in Phnom Penh

The Maxim Restaurant, formerly known as the Tong Nam Restaurant, has opened on the ground floor of the Comfort Inn Hotel in Phnom Penh. The restaurant, popular for its Asian and international dishes, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as for large private functions.

 

Airlines add flights

Far Eastern Air Transport

Taiwan-based Far Eastern Air Transport began a charter service to and from Siem Reap and Kaohsiung in Taiwan in late September 2004; available every four days. In October 2004, the airline added flights between Taipei and Siem Reap, also available every four days. The airline increased its service between Siem Reap and Danang from three to four flights a week.

Phuket Air and the Cambodian government are planning to launch a new national flag carrier for Cambodia, to be called Royal Air Cambodia, to replace Royal Air Cambodge, which ceased operations in 2000.

Road building in Mondolkiri

The Sar Lar Investment Company will invest 6 million USD to build a 36-kilometre road from Mondolkiri to the provincial Bousra tourism site. Ngin Sroeun, a Sar Lar representative, said that his company has already brought to the site all the machines needed for the construction. The company’s investment will give jobs to hundreds of people, particularly regional residents, and will also help develop tourism in the province.
