Phan Thiet

The Anh Duong Resort  in Phan Thiet offers guests standard rooms, bungalows and tents, as well as a Vietnamese seafood restaurant, café, swimming pool, tennis court, karaoke room and billiard tables.

The Blue Ocean Hotel on Phu Quoc Island offers guests 27 standard and superior guest rooms; some with sea-view balconies, refrigerators, air conditioning, bathtubs and satellite television.

Hoi An

Hoi An’s Golden Resort opened late last year with 212 guest rooms and suites, including deluxe and presidential suites, a swimming pool, three restaurants, conference and banquet halls, tennis courts, a fitness centre, and water sports.

The Hoi An Pacific Hotel will be hosting a Lunar New Year’s Eve gala dinner buffet on 7th February. The gala will be held from 21:00 until 00:30 at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, the Sky Bar. Entertainment includes a live music band and a lucky draw contest. The buffet will include a plethora of entrees, salads, side dishes, barbeques and desserts. The gala dinner is priced at 20++ USD/person and includes one beer or soft drink.

In mid-2006, the Shangri-La Group Hong Kong will open its deluxe 5-star Shangri-La Hotel Chiang Mai on Changklan Road with 200 guest rooms. The hotel will feature lush gardens, four club floors, a lounge, western and Thai restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor free-flow pool, a fitness centre, a tennis court, large meeting and banquet facilities, and a village-style spa.

In late 2004, construction began on the 5-star Son Tra Resort & Spa on a former military zone in Danang, which is expected to be completed in late 2006. The 41 million USD resort, built over 14 hectares of land surrounded by beaches and mountains, will have 80 guest rooms and 200 villas, restaurants and conference facilities.  

Pilgrimage Village

The Pilgrimage Village in Hue offers guests 50 deluxe guest rooms with garden or countryside views, two private balconies for each room, twin or double beds, satellite television, coffee and tea making facilities, safety deposit boxes, daily fruit baskets, and refrigerators. Guest facilities include a swimming pool with bar, the Pil Bar in the basement, and the two-storey Junrei Restaurant with 600-seats and European, Asian and Vietnamese dishes, in a garden setting ideal for banquets, receptions and parties. 

In November 2004, the 4-star Sun Spa Resort opened in Quang Binh Province with 236 ocean and garden view suites and standard and superior guest rooms; each room offers en suite bathrooms, satellite television, air conditioning and 24-hour room service. The resort also features swimming pools, three food outlets, the Sun Café with Western cuisine, the Golden Lotus with Vietnamese cuisine and Asian Delight with Asian cuisine, the Ocean Bar, conference, incentive and banquet facilities, a health club with sauna, massage services, and sports activities, including parasailing, windsurfing and ocean kayaking.

The 3-star Vi Da Riverside Hotel in Hue has 45 guestrooms that come with personal amenities, private bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, mini-bars and air conditioning, and satellite television. Its facilities include three restaurants that serve European, Asian and Vietnamese cuisine, shuttle services, Internet access and an art shop.

 

Red Arecas opens in Hanoi

Western and Vietnamese dishes are now available at the Red Arecas Restaurant, or Nha Hang Cau Do, in Hanoi. The new restaurant offers breakfast, set menus for lunch and dinner, buffets, catering and cooking shows. Those wanting to learn how to cook Vietnamese cuisine can attend the three-hour cooking courses being offered by the restaurant, where the master chef will show students how to prepare appetizers, main courses and desserts from the menu of traditional spring rolls, chicken and coconut salad, catfish steamed in a clay pot, and much more.
