Luxury
at Khao Yai, Kirimaya by ALiLA
The
Khao Yai National Park, a mere two-hour car ride from the hustle
and bustle of Bangkok, is a future UNESCO World Heritage Site with
lush forests, wild animals, and scenic views of mountains, rivers
and majestic waterfalls. At its edge, the ALiLA Hotels and Resorts
Group, known for its creative style, contemporary designs and
relaxing environments, have just opened in December 2004 a luxury
boutique spa and golf resort named Kirimaya.
The
resort offers all of ALiLA’s signature concepts in 30 plantation
view rooms and 22 horizon view rooms measuring 42 square-metres
with private balconies. Also available are four 82 square-metre
suites with private terraces and four 180 square-metre tented
villas with private indoor spa pools and deck areas. Each guest
room or suite is equipped with a daybed, cable television,
high-speed Internet access and bathroom amenities. Facilities and
services include an executive boardroom, classroom conference room
and banquet dining room, an infinity pool, a children’s
playground, rustic fare at T-Grill, the Acala Restaurant and the
Mist Bar. The spa, with its indoor and outdoor pavilions, is where
to go for massage services and beauty treatments that will help to
restore peace and relaxation to your health and overall
well-being. The nearby 18-hole par 72 championship golf course was
designed by Jack Nicklaus and offers golf buggy carts and caddy
service, as well as a clubhouse that houses a pro shop, restaurant
and gymnasium.
While
it is always a good time to visit the Kirimaya, it may be useful
to note that between December and May, flowering trees, wild
orchids and rare plants are in full bloom, wild elephants may be
spotted, and the forest’s birds are in full song. For more

Caravelle
hosts a night of smiles
 |
| Songs
for Smiles |
On
1st October, the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City
hosted the sold-out Songs for Smiles charity event, presented by
Operation Smile Vietnam and the Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir.
The volunteer choir, mainly Welsh singers who come from all over
the world, known for its unique presentation of harmonic music
pieces of Welsh folk culture and its dedication to charity work,
was joined by students from the ABC International School Choir and
guest artists from Ho Chi Minh City. Operation Smile is a
non-profit organisation that was created to give smiles and
self-esteem back to children and young adults from all over the
world who suffer from cleft lips and palates with free
reconstructive surgery.
Exotissimo
was one of the many corporate sponsors for this very important
cause, which raised almost 40,000 USD for operations that are sure
to bring smiles to over 500 children and their loved ones. Next
year in October 2005, the Caravelle Hotel will host its 4th
annual charity event to raise money for victims of Agent Orange.
