The
Banteay Srey Hotel in Siem Reap
opened its doors in August with 54 guest rooms equipped with air
conditioning and cable television, as well as conference rooms, a
restaurant and a bar.
Since
late July, the Bayon Hotel,
located in Phnom Penh, has closed down its facilities and cancelled its
services. No announcement has been made on whether the hotel will reopen
in the future.
Five
rooms are now available at the Foreign Correspondence Club (FCC) Phnom
Penh and two more will be available at the end of the year. 21 more
guest rooms will be opened in November at the FCC Angkor in Siem Reap, which currently offers 12 rooms.
In
November the Lotus Angkor Hotel will soft-open in Siem Reap with 72
Cambodian-style guest rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a business
centre, fitness facilities and a tropical garden. The second phase of the
hotel, to be completed in February 2005, will add another 36 guest rooms.
Eight of the total 108 rooms will be suites, while the rest will be deluxe
rooms.

| Sihanoukville |
Mid-2005
will see the opening of the O’Choue Teal Golf Course in Sihanoukville,
which will house a nine-hole golf course and a clubhouse. The second phase
of the project, to be completed at the end of 2005, will see a 120-room
hotel and restaurants, as well as another nine-hole course.
The
Pansea Angkor will be renamed La Résidence d’Angkor to reflect its new
management.
The
4-star Sokha Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap has rescheduled its opening to June
2005, due to delays in construction. When completed, the hotel will house
270 rooms with modern amenities, a coffee shop, a Japanese restaurant, an
Irish pub, a lifestyle boutique, conference centres, and health and
fitness facilities.

Beach Resort |
In
late September, the recreational facilities and Kid’s Club and
Playground will be available at the Sokha Beach Resort. The Sokha Spa
Village and Gymnasium and dive centre will be opened in October. The
resort has also closed its deluxe and family bungalows for repairs.
Nuits
D'Angkor in December
17th
to 19th December will see the fourth edition of the annual
Angkor Night Festival, or Des Nuits D’Angkor, within the Angkor Wat
temple site. The Royal Ballet of Cambodia, in conjunction with the French
Ballet of Jean-Claude Gallotta Company, will perform traditional and
contemporary dance programmes which combine French and Cambodian styles
and cultures.
