Construction and openings in Myanmar

Bagan Hotel

The Bagan Hotel has finished building two new Ayeyarwady river view presidential suites, as well as seven river view junior suites in the same location. More river view junior suites are also underway for the 2004-2005 season. Renovation works, such as polishing of the floor and changing of the curtains and furniture have also been done to existing rooms.

 

Inle Princess Resort

From 1st May to 16th July, Inle Princess Resort in Inle Lake will be renovating their superior guest rooms into bungalows. When construction is completed, the resort will have a total of 25 lake view and 17 garden view chalets. Also in Inle Lake, the Golden Island Cottages will be adding more rooms this year.

The Tharabar Group, which currently operates and manages the Hotel at Tharabar Gate in Bagan, has taken over the management of the Ngapali Beach Hotel, formerly know as the Strand Hotel Sandoway.

Silver Beach Hotel

Late last year the Silver Beach Hotel in Ngapali Beach added seven suites and one bungalow to its existing 18 guest rooms.

The Treasure Beach Resort in Ngwe Saung is upgrading 24 of its guest rooms to meet superior standards. 12 rooms have already been completed; the rest will be finished this year.

In March, the Amata Resort and Spa in Ngapali Beach had a soft opening for 25 of its guest rooms. In September, the resort will have a grand opening for the rest of its 75 rooms.

The Sane Le Tin Hotel in Kyaik Hti Yo City, which is home to the Golden Rock, has opened for guests. The hotel is surrounded by farms and has 20 rooms available.

Bagan Landscape

The Eden Group, which operates the B.B.B. European Restaurant in Mandalay, has opened the Eden B.B.B. Restaurant in Bagan. The restaurant, which seats 200 guests, offers a selection of Burmese and European food, espresso and cappuccinos, and a show every night.

The owner of the Amarapura Handicrafts Restaurant, the Amarapura Handicrafts Centre, has a new restaurant in Mandalay. The Lotus Mandalay offers guests specialised Thai, Chinese and Burmese food.
