MYANMAR WATER FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN APRIL

According to the Burmese calendar Myanmar will enter the year 1365 on 17 April 2003. The four days from 13 to 16 April before New Year's Day are celebrated with a huge water festival known as Thingyan throughout the country. Travelling during the Myanmar water festival can be either tough or great fun depending on whether you like to celebrate it or not. Inform your clients that if travelling during the celebrations they will get wet, but since it is the hottest period of the year it is not as bad as it may sound! However it advisable to leave anything that you would not want to get wet safe and dry in the hotel.

THAI AIRWAYS AND MYANMAR AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL SIGN CODE-SHARING AGREEMENT

Thai Airways and Myanmar Airways International have signed a code-sharing agreement effective from 1st February 2003. This means that endorsement of flight tickets is no longer needed and passengers holding a Thai Airways (TG) flight ticket between RGN and BKK can also travel with Myanmar Airways International (8M). However, since there is a price difference between 8M and TG the number of seats allocated on the TG aircraft for 8M flight tickets is limited.
