The Cuu Long region, which translates as 'Nine Dragons', otherwise known as the Mekong Delta is a great place to discover Vietnam. Amazing waterways hidden amongst vibrant tropical fruit gardens, bustling floating markets that offer a cornucopia of items and acres of emerald rice fields are what makes this region so unforgettable.
The private Song Xanh is designed as a traditional sampan and its small size allows you to discover the smaller canals, rivers and tributaries of this region. Cruise Cai Be's and Cai Rang's colourful floating markets; visit Sadec, the Mekong town made famous from Marguerite Duras' novel 'The Lover', enjoy an unforgettable dinner in a 19th century house and the sights of sounds of this fascinating region.
Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta (L,D)
Depart Ho Chi Minh City for the Mekong Delta.As you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind the scenery is gradually replaced with rice paddies and rural villages. Upon arrival in the Delta board your boat for the overnight journey, including stops at the home of Mr. Huyen Thuy Le, a character from the novel 'The Lover', Thien Hau Pagoda and Cao Dai Temple.
Overnight aboard the Song Xanh or Basac Boat.
Day 2 - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Cross the Mekong on the way to Cai Rang Floating Market, take in traditional sights such as rice barges, wooden ship building yards and fruit drying along the Mekong's banks; a maze of hundreds of boats. After your visit of Cai Rang check-out and disembark to your waiting vehicle for the 04-hour transfer back to to Ho Chi Minh City.

We met some very interesting people in the group, one of whom highly recommended Exotissimo as a Tour Operator and we totally agree. So I decided to login on the Exotissimo website and we will do some other tours with your agency. At the moment we are thinking about Laos or Myanmar.

You put together a wonderful trip for us and we are very grateful for your good work and excellent advice.
Our three guides were first class and our drivers were top-notch. I am still amazed at how they were able to navigate through all the traffic, especially all the motor bikes.
We thoroughly enjoyed each place we visited and Ha Long Bay was quite special.
