When to go?
Although pleasant year-round, the best time to visit Phu Quoc is from October to May.  The weather is dry and sunny, reaching 34 Celsius during the day but with a steady ocean breeze.  The water temperature is pleasant and the evening temperatures drop as the sun goes down.
During the rainy season, June to September, the cooling afternoon showers can disrupt beach time but mean that the waterfalls and jungles of the island are at their best.

Where is it?
Phu Quoc is a small island, yet Vietnam's largest, located off the southern coast.  From Saigon, most travelers chose to take an hour long flight to this island paradise and La Veranda is just a 20 minute taxi ride form there.

What's cooking?
Phu Quoc is famous for its locally grown pepper and combined with the mouth-watering fresh seafood, the food is sure to delight the taste buds! The chef's at La Veranda's Peppertree restaurant create delicious dishes which are a combination of Vietnamese and Pan Asian styles.   Local mussels in white wine, red snapper stuffed with red peppers and ginger, and a variety of other dishes fill the menu.
Once a week, La Veranda puts on a beach barbeque with candle lit tables lining the sand.  Although the barbeque dishes are available every night, this weekly get together is a fun night on the sand.  Guests are treated to a full buffet breakfast highlighted by fabulous fresh fruit, homemade pastries, and cook to order eggs.
Lighter meals such as sandwiches and Vietnamese appetizers are served throughout the day and a full selection of wine and spirits are available.
