Pimalai Resort & Spa - Koh Lanta - Overview
The beautiful Andaman island of Koh Lanta has avoided the excessive development that has tarnished other parts of Thailand, remaining a natural, unspoiled and vividly green paradise.

Nestling amidst 100 acres of the island's tropical forest and overlooking 900 meters of its pristine beachfront sits the Pimalai Resort and Spa.

Classic yet contemporary, the resort's architecture is a lesson in sophistication, with polished woods and neutral tones abound. From the bamboo blinds to the smooth teak floors that feature in every room, the decor is an exemplary display of refined elegance. As each room offers views over the beautiful landscape, guests are treated to a natural and organic experience without any compromise in luxury or comfort.

Contained within the resort is everything the discerning traveler may need or expect. Tennis courts, a gym, water-sports equipment and on-sight PADI diving instructors are just a few of the facilities on offer. With a choice of four restaurants and five bars, dining and nightlife options are plentiful.  For these reasons and more, in 2007 the World Travel Awards gave Pimalai the title of 'Thailand's Leading Resort'.

When to go?
The temperature in Koh Lanta remains fairly steady year-round, with an average day time temperature of around 28°C. There are two distinctive seasons in Koh Lanta: The dry season extends from December to April, while the rainy season is between May and November. During the rainy season much of the island shuts down, as the monsoon rains are very heavy and often cause flooding on the roads.  However, the showers rarely last longer than 4 hours and the remainder of the day is often sunny. The water remains pleasantly warm year-round, perfect for water sports like snorkeling and scuba diving.

Where is it?

Pimalai Resort & Spa is situated on the southwest coast of Koh Lanta Yai island in the Andaman Sea. The Resort is on the pristine Kan Tiang Beach with a long stretch of white sand surrounded by lush, green jungle. There is no airport on Koh Lanta, but travelers can easily access the island by the nearby town of Krabi which has an international airport.  Additionally, ferry boats ply the waters from nearby islands.

What's not to be missed?

Boat cruise through the Andaman Sea.  Sunset Squid Safari. Cycling through the lush jungle. Trekking through the forest on the back of an elephant. Windsurfing or canoeing in the pristine waters. Relaxing with a sunset cocktail.  Beachside Thai massage. Snorkeling amongst the beautiful coral and sealife.

What's cooking?
The Pimalai offers four restaurants and five bars with a wide variety to suit everyone’s tastes. Relying on the freshest local produce and local spices, every meal is a delight at the Pimalai.  Feast on delicious Thai Cuisine at ‘Spice ‘N Rice’ or opt for international a la carte dishes from Baan Pimalai.  Guests should not miss the fabulous fusion food at Seven Seas Wine Bar & Restaurant, where superior ingredients are integrated in to flavorful masterpieces. The casual Rak Talay Beach Bar & Restaurant allows you to enjoy fresh local seafood and international dishes by the seaside while Banyan Tree Pool Side Café offers a selection of hundreds of wines from around the world accompanied by light snacks.
