UNESCO has declared Vietnam’s 7th World Heritage Site: The Citadel of the Ho Dynasty. Located 150 km west of the capital Hanoi, the Citadel of Ho Dynasty are the remains of a late 14th century castle constructed from stone blocks. It was constructed according to Feng Shui principles by the Hồ Dynasty which started in 1397. It is a symbol of neo-Confucian architecture. Unfortunately the only remaining structure is the gate. Unless clients are particularly taken with this specific style, it may be worth waiting until further attractions are added in the area before making the long journey to its remote position.

Exo’s popular join-in tour extended until April 2011
Our popular 9-day Join In Tour of Vietnam (‘Seat in Coach’) has been extended until 16 April 2011. Starting in Hanoi and traveling south to Ho Chi Minh City, the itinerary showcases the highlights of Vietnam including a city tour of Hanoi and an overnight boat trip on Halong Bay in the north, touring of Hoi An and Hue’s main sites in the central region and a full day tour of Ho Chi Minh City as well as an excursion to the Mekong Delta.
The trip departs every 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month (see dates below). For departures from now to 16 April 2010, the price is 599 USD per person in First Class hotels and 834 USD per person in Superior Class hotels. Departures from October 2010 to April 2011 are 650 USD per person in First Class or 840 USD in Superior Class. These rates include all domestic flights, entrance fees and accommodation in a shared twin or double room.

During the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet), Exotissimo’s Vietnam offices will be closing at noon on 12 February (Friday). The offices will fully re-open at 9AM on 18 February (Thursday). We are pleased to welcome Anton Jurgens as the new Adventure Manager of Exotissimo Vietnam. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast with over ten years of worldwide guiding experience with Backroads, an American adventure travel company. Anton recently completed a Masters degree in Sustainable Destination Management and International Development and has consulted on a variety of international tourism development projects. For any booking of 2 to 6 people, you will receive immediate confirmation once the bookings have been validated by Exotissimo. This service will be applicable for hotels (excluding suites), Victoria Train (Hanoi – Lao Cai) and Mekong Cruises; tours with English/French/German-speaking guides and domestic flights (same day travel adjustments to flight times may be necessary).

Bangkok, Thailand (2 June 2009) – Exotissimo Vietnam has been honored with ‘The Guide Award’ for excellent performance during the 2008-2009 tourist season. Introduced into Vietnam by the Americans in the 1960s and 70s, these funky jeeps can be rented for city touring or for a night out on the town. Up to 12 jeeps can be hired at any one time for touring within Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). Each vehicle comes with a private driver and seats 3 passengers. Surrounded by the sea and stunning limestone cliffs, the floating villages of Halong Bay are unique and make for a fascinating overnight stay. A floating house is used as the sleeping quarters for group sizes not exceeding 6 people. Guests are encouraged to interact with the locals to learn more about their daily lives.
