This month, the Angkor Village Hotel and her sister property the Angkor Village Resort are pleased to announce a Mahout training program. This activity is available exclusively to in-house guests and allows you to learn how to ride, bathe, feed and otherwise take care of these giant pachyderms. The activity is limited to small groups of four or less guests at either property. Mahout training is perfect for the young at heart, though not younger than 16 years old.

A cooking class is also now available at both properties. Underneath the expert tutelage of the hotel chef, participants will learn how to identify local vegetables and cook signature Khmer dishes. Class size is limited to 12 per session, and is open to participants from outside either property.

This summer, the Angkor Village Hotel will be closed from 1st May 2008 to 30th September 2008. So during these times, feel free to stay at the Angkor Village Resort!

Take a wonderful bicycle ride to Roulous Temple group and onwards to Kampong Phluck and enjoy a cruise through traditional floating villages before heading back to Siem Reap.

Another option is to explore the countryside between the famous Angkor Complex and the magnificent Kulen Mountains. Here you can cycle a loop of 30km passing by Banteay Samre temple, Phnom Bok Hill for stunning views and end up at Banteay Srey Temple, a must see for everyone. This cycling experience takes you through endless paddy fields over perfect dirt roads and through beautiful villages.

The last option is to explore the perfectly hidden treasure of Beng Mealea. Discover this temple by yourself and wander around the jungle before having a great picnic lunch in the countryside.Continue onward to Phnom Bok to admire stunning views of the plains below. Beng Mealea is a real treat for any explorer and anyone who loves and appreciates nature at its best.
