Exotissimo Launches Adventure Trek Along Thailand’s Old Elephant Trail

old-elephant-trail.jpg

Following months of extensive research, Exotissimo Travel unveils a challenging expedition that explores the pristine forests of Thailand’s northern hinterlands. Reviving an ancient trade route, the program offers intrepid travelers an unparalleled insight into the region’s rich biodiversity, cultures and customs. The Old Elephant Trail: Trekking Thailand’s Highest Peaks is a 7 Day / 6 Night trek that starts from Mae Surin National Park in Mae Hong Son Province along the little known Old Elephant Trail. Centuries ago the route was busy with merchants traveling between Mae Hong Son and Chiang Mai but with the construction of a road in the 1950s, the trail was abandoned. After years of solitude, the trail is now the perfect route for adventurous travelers. To read the full itinerary, click here. The press release for this new exciting tour is available here.

Adventure Cambodia; the responsible approach

the_hardest_road_in_cambodia-right.jpgCambodia’s empty roads, shady dirt paths and trails and welcoming communities are a real treat for cyclists and trekkers alike. The relatively flat routes and natural scenery have contributed to a rising demand of cycling and trekking holidays to Cambodia. Adventure Cambodia has adjusted its routes to make sure that you are able to visit the best of what the beautiful countryside have to offer. Lunching with local families, enjoying visits to countryside farms and non-profit organizations and sleeping in pagodas are all unique features that will create your perfect, memorable holiday.

Adventure Cambodia understands the value of community-based tourism and supports the communities we meet on the way. Responsible travel has become an increasingly important feature for us and especially our adventure tours. We are continuing to add new elements to our tours to make sure we can accommodate this rising demand. Join Exotissimo on its cycling or trekking tours and get in touch with the real Cambodia while improving local people’s livelihoods.

Northeast Cambodia; the Next Big Thing!

cambodia-countryside-left.jpgA lot of people sat up and took note of northeast Cambodia when we began our Pakse to Siem Reap bicycle ride. It is a great way to journey across the region. We have spent more than two months in the region, and believe that there is more to the region than cycling alone.

With excellent new infrastructure and accommodation options opening in April, Stung Treng and Kratie are great places to visit from Phnom Penh. Alongside the Mekong and with local communities providing new eco-tourism services, the new route gives more reasons for adventure travelers to rejoice. Scenic boat rides from the border to Stung Treng, birdwatching, dolphin watching and short island exploration make for a great experience in northeast Cambodia. If you have ever wondered what life was like along the tenth largest river in the world, this is your chance to find out!

To complete a great trip, we can arrange a temple stay at one of Cambodia’s most famous pagoda’s – the One Hundred Pillar Pagoda. The route is appropriate for most travelers but does require some physical activity from time to time. Be an explorer, break ground and have an adventure with Exotissimo in northeast Cambodia!

Hardcore Adventures in Dalat

rock-climbing-right.jpgThe romantic heart of Vietnam has long had a second side to it, an adventurous side. Exotissimo Travel has been hard at work identifying new soft adventure activities to take advantage of Dalat’s cool climate, gorgeous waterfalls and rolling hills.

Our 2D/1N Jungle Fever will take you through the local forests and jungles (and maybe spotting a wild elephant or two) while visiting minority villages along the way. For those adverse to camping, the Langbian Scramble will lead participants to gorgeous views from the three mountain peaks of Langbian (of course). We offer mountain biking programs for all levels.

New kayaking programs can take participants out to Tuyen Lam Lake. Rock Climbing fans have reason to rejoice, as we can now offer excellent rock climbing programs (to complement to X Rock Climbing Wall in Saigon).

No matter what the level of skill, we can offer interesting and exciting adventure programs for everyone in Dalat. Please contact Exotissimo Vietnam for more information.
