Electric bicycles, motorbikes and all means of motorized transport are not allowed anymore
on the streets of the old ancient town of Hoi An on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8h00 to 11h00 in the morning and from 14h30 to 16h30 and 19h00 to 21h00 in the evening.
Due to this change, the local authorities hope to bring a quiet and comfortable atmosphere to visitors as well as to preserve the ancient architecture of the town, according to Mr. Truong Van Bay, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoi An.

Tan Son Nhat Airport will soon officially open a new terminal to serve increasingly international airlines in Ho Chi Minh City. Mandarin Airlines, Tiger Airways, Shenzen Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines and Uni Air are checking in a one-week test in the new terminal. if the test runs smoothly, all 35 international airlines flying in and out will use this new facility after September 2nd. The older terminal will serve domestic flights only.
The four- story terminal equipment meets international standards including ten luggages conveyor belts, eight sky bridges , 20 escalators, 18 elevators, eight moving walkways, ten sets of automatic doors, 43 X-ray machines, flight information boards and security equipment.
The second phase of the new terminal will be completed by 2010 with capacity to 15 mil passengers a year. According to the Southern Airport Authority (SAA), by 2015 a new international airport, which will be built in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai province, will supersede Tan Son Nhat, which would then only handle domestic flights.

Commencing from October 29th, Bangkok Airways will launch a new air link from Chiang Mai to Siem Reap. The airline continues to strengthen its ‘BOUTIQUE’ network in the region by making access to cultural landmarks in Siem Reap more readily available.
The one way flight leaves Chiang Mai at 16:10 hrs and arrives at Siem Reap at 18:30 hrs with two times a week on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Tourist arrivals to Cambodia continue to soar, up 20 percent in the first half of 2007 compared to the same period last year. “The basic reasons for the jump is security, safety and political stability,” Tourism Minister Thong Khon said. More than half of those who visited this year flocked to Cambodia’s famed Angkor temples in northwestern Siem Reap province. According to the government, tapping tourists into other areas such as eco-friendly environment for longer stays and other sights than the World Heritage-listed Angkor temples is the next target.
