Hintok River Camp Now Fully Operational

Hintok River CampIt has been a bit quiet around the Hintok River Camp. After its first season, the camp is now fully operational. The resort, which has 21 comfortable tented bungalows with 24hr electricity, A/C and hot water is situated downstream from Jungle Rafts (about 45 min by boat from the jetty) and is operated by the same management as Jungle Rafts and Resotel. The Hintok is a more luxurious option than the Jungle Rafts and is a good alternative, especially for small groups or FITs. Activities like canoing, biking, trekking and elephant riding are easily organized from the camp.

Kanchanaburi’s jungle is still largely unspoilt and not yet known to many travel agents. However, the combination of elephant camps, bamboo rafting and walking trips through the jungle, make the destination ideal for tourists who have limited time to spend in the Kingdom but still want to experience Thailand’s diversity through Bangkok’s culture and markets, Kanchanaburi’s jungle and elephants, and the sea and sand available at any of the country’s wonderful beaches.

Lufthansa’s Amazing Incentive in Northern Thailand

“Hilarious and fun” is how one Lufthansa employee described an incentive tour organized by Exotissimo at the beginning of June in Northern Thailand. To reward “loyal eXpert members,” Lufthansa asked Exotissimo to organize something different and our incentive department surely did! The 58 participants from different Asian countries arrived on 5th June 2007 in Chiang Mai. Not only did they enjoy good food, nice accommodation and good shopping, they were also asked to work! How?? By participating in the Amazing Walk Rally in Chiang Mai!

The concept was simple; let loose teams of professionals onto the streets of Chiang Mai, give them challenging tasks to perform and riddles to solve to test their coordination, teamwork, intelligence and creativity. The result was an unforgettable journey through the city’s spiritual traditions and modern conveniences, on foot and by songtheaw. Armed with only an instant camera, a few Thai baht, a map, a roadbook and street smarts, Lufthansa teams used their wits and general knowledge to negotiate the streets of Chiang Mai to find a series of checkpoints where they performed tasks or solved riddles related to Lufthansa’s business. The treasure hunt took them to local handcraft bazaars to search for bargains, to local spirits houses to sample some hot and spicy Thai cuisine and to even discover some Thai traditions.

Our Chiang Mai team was stationed at each checkpoint to ensure that each team performed the task correctly, to provide any needed assistence and also to add local knowledge and entertainment value to the event. Along the way Lufthansa participants saw some of the city’s most famous landmarks and also got to know each other a lot better. Who could have imagined that the guy from ticketing was also good bargaining for local food?

After the rally, there was of course time to enjoy some drinks and to share with each other the stories of the day. “it was just like the Amazing Asia race on TV,” said one participant from Singapore, while a participant from India said, “this incentive trip is the most fun and exciting that I have ever done. I will definitely do my best to join next year’s trip!”

In order to create not just a great tour but also to help organisers collect all participant information easily, and Exotissimo created a website (www.lufthansa.exotissimo.com) for this trip, which included a registration form, detailed program and pictures of the tour for download and comments. The website was a great way to make the “incentive feeling” and motivation for participants last longer!!!

Do you think your staff, your best clients or your best sales offices need a short break to “revive” their motivation?? Contact Exotissimo Thailand for more information about short, active incentive trips including treasure hunts, races and other team building (or just fun) programs in Chiang Mai, Bangkok or other places in Thailand at an affordable budget.

Drink before you fly!!!

Like many European countries, Thailand has begun restricting the amount of liquids, aerosols and gels that can be brought onto airplanes as part of your carry-on luggage. All liquid items bigger then 100ml should be part of your checked-in baggage. Remember to finish your bottle of water before boarding that next flight.
