New City to build tourist complex in Phu Yen

The Brunei-based New City group is increasing to USD 1.5 billion its investment in a tourist complex in the central coastal province of Phu Yen. The development is situated on on 465 hectares of coastline and will include a five-star hotel, a recuperation and healthcare resort, a golf course and a casino.

New Road eases access to Vat Phou

Wat PhouRoute 14A, running from the Mekong Bridge in Meuang Kao, run through Soukhoumma district to Vat Phou temple. This new road will make it easier for tourists to visit these legendary temple ruins. Vat Phou is a set of Khmer ruins, dating from the 11th and 13th centuries, found at the base of Mount Phu Khao.

Two More Life Heritage Resorts in Vietnam

Life Resorts has just announced that it will develop two additional resorts in Vietnam. The first one, the Life Heritage Resort, will be built near Sapa, and will be comprised of 50 suites and chalets. The Life Heritage Resort in Ninh Binh will be slightly smaller with 40 cottages and stone houses. The Ninh Binh property will also offer private boat cruises around Ha Long Bay, using Life Resorts fleet of 22 deluxe boats.
Life Resorts had earlier announced that its new Phan Thiet property would open in 2008.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Hanoi best tourist cities in Asia

Travel and Leisure magazine ranked Bangkok – home of the Golden and Silver PChiang Maialaces, and Chiang Mai first and second best Southeast Asian cities for tourists. Hanoi was ranked sixth for its ancient architecture and its old quarter comprised of 36 historic streets. Luang Prabang, located 425km north of Vientiane, was ranked 10th.

Sailing Club Mui Ne to close for renovations

Sailing ClubThe Mui Ne Sailing Club Resort & Day Spa will be closed from 20th May 2007 to 20th June 2007. During this time, the resort will be improving the interior of its Superior Class bungalows, with special attention being paid to the bathroom. As part of these renovations, the swimming pool and sun lounge area will also be upgraded and enlarged.

Crowne Plaza brand launched in Vietnam

The InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to build the first Crowne Palaza Hotel in Vietnam in Danang. The new 500-room property is scheduled to open in early 2009, and will be located along the beachfront area of Ngu Hanh Son. The USD 52 million project will be about 15 minutes away from Danang International Airport and the city centre, commanding gorgeous views of China Beach. The Hoangdat Silver Shores Exceptional International Entertainment Joint Venture Company has been given the task of building this property.
