Vietnam Airlines has just joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Air traffic in Vietnam is predicted to grow about 10% over the next few years. As a result, Vietnam Airlines is spending heavily to expand its current fleet of of 10 Boeing 777s, 10
Airbus A321s, 1 Airbus A330-300, 9 ATR72s and 2 Fokker 70s. The airline will receive a delivery of 4 Boeing B787-8 planes and 10 Airbus A321s, and purchase 5 ATR 72s over the next four years.

Bach Dang Giang, a gigantic floating restaurant, will be complete in early 2007. This 3-story tall ship will be 40 meters long, 12 meters wide and 20 meters high, and will be the largest floating wooden restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. The restaurant will have seat 1200 patrons.

The Nobel Oil Group has received permission from the government to build a seaside resort. The project will be capitalised with a total investment capital of US$30 million. The planned resort is expected to open in 2008, and will be built on a 15 hectare piece of land.

The Vinpearl Amusement Park has opened on Hon Tre island, off the coast of Nha Trang. Hon Tre island is famous for crystal white beaches and turquoise waters. The Amusement Park includes a shopping mall, dance club and movie theater, and only a few minutes away from the Sofitel Vinpearl Resort. A cable car to link the island and the mainland is planned for the near future.
