Meditation in Phuket, Thailand – Your Path to Mental Enlightenment

Is meditation something you have always wanted to learn more about but never known how or where to do so?  No worries!  Exotissimo has a half day session devoted solely on meditation training!  You will learn the fundamental techniques used in mediation, then venture up on a hilltop temple to put what you learned into practice.

First, let’s briefly touch on meditation, and realize what it does for the body and mind.  When one is meditating, the person is making a conscious effort to change how his/her mind works.  For example, someone may resort to anger too quickly but would like to change this aspect of him or herself.  He/she may remind him or herself not to get angry, but when a certain situation arises, ends up being crossed anyway because anger has arisen within without him or her knowing it.  Mediation can assist in developing that awareness to improve mental habits like involuntary anger.

Meditation starts with breathing.  How many times during the day have you actually noticed yourself inhaling and exhaling for air?  Don’t worry if you said none.  Many do not realize they are even breathing throughout the day.  It is, however an important facet during meditation, and it will help you make your mind clearer and more lucid.  A comfortable sitting position is also important; many choose to sit in the traditional cross-legged posture while others may choose to rest on a chair.  To prevent the mind from being sluggish, your back must be straight at all times.  Sit with your eyes partially closed and breathe naturally.

You may find that your mind is busy, even more so than normal as you are meditating.  The fact of the matter is that you are becoming more aware of how busy your mind actually is.  It is tempting to wander off and concentrate on what the mind is thinking during meditation.  If you find yourself doing that, just quickly focus back to your breathing.

Alright, now you know some meditation basics that you can practice at home.  For you to be able to meditate properly and more effectively, it is best to seek out advice from renowned monks who practice it every day.  Our Meditation Training in Phuket day trip takes you to several temples where you will learn a variety of meditation techniques and methods.  After absorbing all this information, you will practice it on a hilltop temple with a breathtaking view, a perfect place to relax the mind!

But wait, you don’t have to restrict your meditation training just to Phuket.  You can always contact us if you would like to include meditation training in any of our tours.  All of our programs are customizable, so feel free to tell Exotissimo what you would like to do during your Southeast Asian holiday and we will work towards your ideal vacation!

Set your mind free!
