The year 2007 just passed by and it was just 2 days after we had a farewell party to the old year and have started new year 2008! How was your countdown party? Exotissimo hopes that everyone had the great time during that festive moment. On December 31st, 2007, Bangkok was even more brightened and joyful with countdown parties, not only at the city centres but also at small places, soi, and houses. There was also the annual countdown party named “Hands Bangkok Countdown 2008″ that significantly embraced people who didn’t travel anywhere, foreign residents and expats, and visitors around the world who were in Bangkok. This festive party was held at the Central World, the big, big shopping centre in Asia and the important landmark in the heart of Bangkok’s downtown. And the road in front of the place Hands Bangkok Countdown 2008 was designed to be an international symbol of the celebrations for Thais and visitors.
It was really a dramatic moment and a glorious cultural celebration when huge number of people, both Thais and foreigners, altogether counted down while the clock ticked backwards, before it stroke midnight to mark the New Year 2008. Ending the sound of New Year countdown, saying goodbye for the old year and greeting the New Year, the sky was lightened with collections of dramatic and spectacular fireworks, creating the staring night! The landmark of this event is a gigantic structure called “The Greeting Ball Tower“, which I am sure that it will imprint in your memory to carry the moment of happiness to the New Year with hope. The designer of this tower wished to emphasize with a graphic of a globe on top- end of the tower to display times and countdown events around the world prior to and after the countdown in Thailand. And if you were there or saw it in the TV, you could see that the tower was in modern style, as the designer said he didn’t want to elaborate it with Thai classic illustration but wanted it to be a “truly new landmark for New Year countdown for every ASEAN countries”.Along the Chao Phraya River banks, it was also beautiful with the touch of Bangkok countdown night. If you cruised up the Chao Phraya River you would see the highlights of Bangkok at nights, brilliant with lights and fireworks on the sky, especially when you passed the Grand Palace and the Temple of Emerald Buddha, the Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun, the Rama 8 Bridge, including the top five star hotels in Bangkok along the river banks like the Shangri- La, the Peninsula and the Oriental Bangkok.
We Exotissimo Travel knew that our customers who were on their vacations in anywhere in Thailand and other countries also were happy and had the fantastic and blissful moment to celebrate their new year, with families, friends or couples. We all hope that this year 2008 would be blessed with many good things coming in your life.
