Hue - Full day cycling exploration in Hue - Hue Garden Ride - Hue - Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An - Depart

On this World Heritage Tour prepare to experience Hue and Hoi An, two of Vietnam's most beautiful cities by bike. Absorb two of the best places in the country to experience the traditions, culture and rhythms of Vietnam on a 6-day bicycle tour. Beginning in Hue, the one time political capital you will explore the history of the town when you visit the Imperial Citadel, before cruising the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, the tallest of its kind in Vietnam.

Cycle a country loop of Hue through winding lanes and lush countryside, passing local villages you will witness the simplicity of rustic Vietnamese living. Encounter friendly locals, observe craft making and have a rural market experience, on this Vietnam Tour that taps into authentic lifestyles. Take to the saddle again when you leave Hue for the quaint charm of Hoi An, a delightful old trading town that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From Hoi An you will visit My Son the ancient centre of Cham civilization, on what will no doubt be a highlight of your Vietnam cycle tour. Passing scenes typical to Vietnamese living, you will be rewarded with warming insights and sprawling panoramas before reaching My Son which was once Champa's religious complex. Our 6-day cycle Vietnam tour requires moderate fitness levels and would be well followed up with a beach break either in Vietnam or another of our destinations.

Day 1 - Full day cycling exploration in Hue (L,D)

Explore Hue's cultural sites on bike including a visit to the Imperial Citadel. We then take a cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda and continue from there on bike to Ming Mang Mausoleum before looping back across the river to Hue via the mausoleum of Khai Dinh.

Cycling distance: 30km (more cycling if less time at sites, this is flexible depending on the group)

Day 2 - Hue Garden Ride (B,L)

Cycle along quiet country lanes through and the countryside to the village of Phuoc Tich. Follow back roads passing by quaint villages and local markets. Enjoy a traditional lunch with Uncle Ho Van Te and learn more about this rich and culturally significant village.

Day 3 - Hue - Hoi An (B,L,D)

After a bus ride outside of Hue we jump on our bikes and cycle along a picturesque and narrow peninsular road from Thuan An beach to Vinh Loc. We then cross the Perfume River by ferry and continue cycling before stopping at Lang Co Beach. In the afternoon we transfer to the picturesque town of Hoi An.

Day 4 - Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An (B,L)

From Hoi An we ride out of town to visit My Son, the ancient centre of Cham civilization. We explore the area on bike and follow the Song Tranh River passing through eucalyptus forests and along rice fields. In the afternoon we transfer back by bus to Hoi An.

Day 5 - Hoi An – Depart (B)

At leisure until your onward flight.
