Spend 3 days with an authentic hilltribe in Northern Thailand for a truly remarkable and enlightening experience. Immerse yourself in the local culture and daily routines of the Karen hilltribe that few people get to experience outside this area. You will discover the joy and amazement of riding an adult elephant, encounter less visited temples and markets, eat in rustic lodges and relax by picture perfect waterfalls. Heading north from Chiang Mai for 250km, the Karen hilltribe live deep in the heart of the mountains where you will stay. Enjoy jungle lunches and visit other local hilltribes before returning to your jungle lodge to take part in activities such as fishing, cooking and photography. Alternatively you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. After dinner on the second evening you are treated to a Karen cultural dance, you can even join in!


The final day starts with an early morning walk on the lookout for Gibbons and tropical birds. Then it's back to the lodge to watch hilltribe women weave traditional cotton cloth. On the journey back to Chiang Mai we stop at a National Park to visit Thailand's largest geyser and Mok Fha Waterfall.

Head 250km north of Chiang Mai to the Karen Hilltribe lodge, stopping at local Thai markets and Baan Chan Temple on the way. Spend the evening relaxing in your new jungle surroundings.

Day 2 - Chiang Mai - Karen Hilltribe Lodge (Wat Chan) (B,L,D)


Enjoy breakfast at the lodge then take a short trek to the elephant camp and experience riding an elephant. Take lunch in the jungle then visit Lisu hilltribe. Relax in the afternoon with the option to go fishing or try cooking local dishes.

Day 3 - Karen Hilltribe Lodge (Wat Chan) - Chiang Mai (B,L)


Spend the morning Gibbon and bird spotting before heading back to observe tribe women weaving cotton cloth and pounding rice. On the return journey to Chiang Mai we visit Thailand's largest geyser and stop at Mok Fha waterfall.
