Come discover this secretive land for yourself on a thrilling bicycle journey that will take you from the former royal capital of Mandalay to the temple-dotted landscape of Bagan. Along the way, you'll get a glimpse at the real face of Burma, as you cycle through rural countryside, sample flavourful regional cuisine, and chat with local traders, farmers, and artisans.

Day 1 - Mandalay (D)

Upon your arrival at Mandalay airport, you'll be welcomed by your Exotissimo guide, and transferred to your hotel. You'll be welcomed at the airport and have a day to explore the city as you wish. Visit the delicate teak temple of Shwenandaw, the massive marble slabs at Kuthodaw Pagoda, or take in the local atmosphere as you wander alongside the moat that surrounds the palace of this regal city.

Day 2 - Mandalay - Amarapura - Mandalay (B,L)

You'll be climbing onto your bike this morning and heading out of Mandalay to the nearby town of Amarapura. After crossing the longest teak bridge in the world, ride further to the Mingun, whose enchanting temple ruins are situated amongst peaceful villages. A languid boat ride down the Irrawaddy River will take you back to Mandalay, where you'll get back on your bike for a ride to a goldleaf workshop, Mahamuni Pagoda, and Mandalay Hill.

Day 3 - Mandalay - Pyin Si - Meiktila (B,L)

Today's journey offers unparalleled opportunities to observe traditional lifestyles of the rural Burmese. Set off from Mandalay to Pyin Si passing villages en route. A scenic car journey transports you on the remainder of the journey to Meiktila where you can relax at your hotel or explore this small town on foot.

Day 4 - Meiktila - Popa (B,L)

This morning pedal along a good road and admire the views on your ride to Mt Popa. A few hills to climb along the way, but with the option of the support van at all times. On arrival check in to your hotel for some well deserved relaxation at the resort.

Day 5 - Popa - Bagan (B,L)

After breakfast, start with an easy bike down from your hotel to the base of Mt. Popa before climbing the 900 stairs to admire the shrines sitting atop the mount and panoramic views from the top. This afternoon, break the ride with a picnic lunch at a local village before arriving in Bagan. A special experience awaits you as you reflect on the day watching the sunset from top of an elevated temple.

Day 6 - Bagan (B,L)

Prepare to be astounded by Bagan, a grassy plain scattered with pagodas. A full day of cycling will take you to the city's most fascinating sites, including the teeming Nyaung Oo Market, the glittering Shwezigon Pagoda, and the atmospheric cave temple of Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi. In the afternoon, you'll peek into a traditional workshop to observe how lacquer ware is made, then visit the architecturally magnificent monastery of Ananda as the sun is setting.

Day 7 - Bagan - Departure (B)

After breakfast, transfer to Nyaung Oo Airport for your departure flight.
